Yes, partially true I suppose. But anyway, it's for fun, so lets have fun and not try to find a problem with everything.

That does not change the fact that you would be cluttering up all those other forums as well. :-\

I am going to post the polls now. Will be open for 2 days. Please guys, go vote!

[edit]The awards are posted, early, i know. But just so you know its in good fun, they will be deleted in two days when the poll stops and i collect the results. (kai already told me he would) [/edit]

You may not agree with it, fine, then dont vote.

[edit2]there are 2 awards in the main forum, 2 in PW, and one in each GFX, NAT, and LAT[/edit2]

Well, an insult is a means to express a negative opinion about something. It has meaning for the person because it allows them to show others how they feel. Therefore, insults do serve a purpose. Whether this purpose is good or bad is subjective.

Quote:
Maturity sees it useless to insult someone, because it is useless.

But as I explained, insults do serve a purpose. Whether this purpose is good or bad is up to you to decide. Right and wrong isn't the issue here and maturity by definition does not deal with such things. In simplest terms, maturity is the state of being fully developed (and in this case I suppose it would be mental development). No definition of maturity addresses abstracts like right and wrong so anything you associate with maturity is subjective..

Quote:
Looking at a grandma or grandpa is the best example (a normal one).

There you go again with the abstracts. What is normal?

Quote:
They don't insult people much, and they just want to make people happy. They don't have greed, hate, anything like that. They have been around longer, and are the most mature in society. But no one is mature, and everything is immature...do you understand what I am saying?
I suppose that's your interpretation of normality. This normaility you describe does not appear to be the status quo. In a perfect world I suppose senior citizens could be like that, but in reality many are not. I'd dare say the majority of them are not. This is besides your point though. You seem to be saying that no matter how mature you become (though I would NOT say that seniority = maturity as you imply with your example), you can never fully mature. The problem here lies on what you consider to be mature. Standards would have to be set for this to be completely true. Otherwise you are just putting a subjective meaning to maturity. What I consider to be mature may be immature in your eyes. So basically, mature has an objective denotation, but a completely subjective connotation. The reason for this being that while the definition says the state of being fully developed...what you consider to be "fully developed" is entirely subjective.

Incorrect. An insult is not defined as necessarily negative - for something to be an insult, it must be offensive, by definition. Thus, you could insult someone by saying "My, you look nice today!" when in fact they might have mud on their face and clothing.

As for them serving a purpose, I doubt that telling some random person on the street "F--- YOU!" would serve any purpose at all, other than offending them. I believe you are mixing up "insult" and "criticize."

Disproven.

More mental development would give someone the mental power to simply shrug off an offensive comment, would it not? Right and wrong is not at issue here, as you said.

In this case, he refers to stereotypical. Normal was not the best choice of words.

I'm sorry your experiences with grandparents have been other than nice.

His post nowhere implies that you can never fully mature - it implies that someone who is more mature would not be calling someone else "immature", becuase they would be wiser than to do so.

Regardless of who defines mature as what, do you not agree that objectively, someone with more mental development would be able to shrug off insults directed at him/her? And would you also agree that when one reaches a certain stage of mental development, it would become unnecessary for them to label other people as "immature"?

It will be called the Graalian Awards:

Nominees:

Scripter of the year: Kaimetsu, Falados, Loriel

GFX Artistof the year: Kinatt, Konidias, Madwolf

Level-Builder of the year: Spanky, Madmartigan (draygin), Wandaman

Overall Developer of the year: Konidias, Soul-blade, Kuja

Global Staff of the year: Lyndzey, Spark911, Stefan

Playerworld of the year: Graal2001, Unholy Nation, Era

UC Playerworld of the year: Oasis, Shifting Ages, Val

Playerworld is based on the PW which has made the greatest strides this year, and the same with UC PW. The nominees will not change, but feel free to argue.

The nominess were decided by a popular vote of the following people: Mykel, Konidias, Tyrial, and Kronan
uh what the hell?
1. 4 people get to pick who should be nominated? no.
2. playerworld of the year, Graal 2001 is on this list. Graal2001 just went into the classic catigory a week or 2 ago, so what the hell is it doing in playerowrld OF THE YEAR?
3.PWA is not GLOBAL STAFF, you said global staff of the year and you put Spark911. he is staff on graal kingdoms?
4. these awards are unoffical and in my opinon flat out stupid becuase you only give a list of 3 people that are well known.

That still means he isn't an overall developer though.

Don't use 'LAT' and 'GFX' as verbs .
