Ok sounds good.
Maybe even make the sign up completely available through the game without opening an external url.

In my personal opinion I think that passwords should be as simple as you want them to be - sort of a last line of defense. Why can't we protect our game accounts like we protect our bank accounts with security questions upon every login or registering our specific computer to the account. Tedious I will agree, but people especially in our generation invest a lot of money into games and to have that taken away is basically getting robbed. I hope things like voice recognition will become standard for things that require passwords - as we move forward in the technological age I hope most computers will come equipped with a decent mic.

Graal already has some nice protections built in, they just need to be fixed. PCID locking is great, but we need a way to reset the allowed PCIDs without contacting the PWA, and we need PCIDs to be fixed to be unique for each player again (it's common for multiple players to share a PCID). PCIDs also have some other issues.

I've seen it done on the 'Admin' side of websites. In Google Apps it allows you to generate a password for your users, I've also seen it on Dreamhost and cPanel. That's really only to speed things up instead of manually entering tens or hundreds of passwords for your users though.

All 28 online services passwords I keep track of let me choose my own password.

Just to clarify, I meant that very few popular sites generate the password for you upon registering, not that no services give you the option of generating a custom password.

What is this standard? Where are you getting this? Where is any standard to generate a password? That's typically only for password recovery. Also the set a password with predefined standards to meet is a dumb standard and you'd see why if you browse through the many posts in this thread about it.

But that's better than nothing so whatever.
