NPC in the Playerlist

How do I get a NPC to show in the playerlist? Kinda like how the NPC Server is shown.

You can't. The NPC Server is a specific client that is connected to the server, it isn't an actual NPC unlike the control npc which is the main npc for the NPC Server.

Right now it is not possible by script although it could theoretically be added, the gserver is already managing virtual players (e.g. the buddies from other servers that are shown on your playerlist). Is there a specific reason why you need this?

None to emergent I just going to create an "Omega Server" NPC with my public function s and the player can PM it to get help and such.

You can already do this with the npcserver.

Yeah, but I don't want to do it with that., You understand if you see how we got it setup. I just want another NPC in the playerlist that I can manipulate

Well it would be logical to have these things have a tag such as (Server NPC) or something, so you don't trick players like that :P

Well when custom playerlists are 'released', I think this will all be possible to do yourself. But... dunno when that's ever gonna happen. Could be useful for listing NPCs in the immediate area of the player. Or having NPC's like a tutor NPC that you meet at the beginning, and can contact for help anytime via playerlist. Or a reporting NPC, things like that. Can easily have it put something like + in front of the name so people know it's an NPC, like they use * for account names.

If scripted playerlists are being released, they'll most likely be protected: like the scripted PM. I bet you can only turn it on or off ...maybe change the profile.
