Smile Looking for staff for playerworld project MedievalGraal

I am looking for Staff for a player world Project called Medievalgraal. This Project started in october 2002 but came to a stop. The original levels and graphics that where made for this project where designed for the standard 2D Graal classic levels style , but sense we are now allowed to use the 3D Graal terrain in our project ,we have restarted the project in hope of developing something new and original. I am developing new tiles sets and other graphics for this project that are set at a pritty good standard if i can say so my self. I realy need more help with this project to make it a success

I am looking for graphics artics , Npc scripters , level designers.
If you are interested in help out with this project please e-mail me at [email protected] or pm me if you see me on graal.

I believe it's something like if you use your own GFX you're allowed to. I'm not positive though.

Sadly, yes. I dont know why PW's would want to use a terrian in the first place. ALl your doing for the classic players if giving them how it is to use the terrian, if they like it, they will upgrade to Graal Kingdoms.

I have been talking to stefan a good few times when i see him online and its ok for anyone to creat a player world with 3d terrain in it if they make there own graphics.
Anyway , i was reading on other forums where Unixmad was taking about rent out "Player World hosting" slots , e.g 100 mb space with no npc server up to 500mb with a npc server ( If you have not readed this ,check out the "Graal Main Forum" and look at the posting "Player World hosting" )
But anyway i have also been talking to tyhm about this . This is what he had to say when i was asking him questions about all of this.
(me asking )
I would like to inquiry in how much you are planning to charge for you Player world hosting. I would like to see a pice range , sense i will end buy one when they come available.
This option should only be open to Vip`s or Vip`s should be charged at a lower rate , becouse i dont really see the point of been a Vip.
I would also like to know what provilages would we be getting if why bought a player world hosting account ?
Would we be given scripts to interact with our web sites and our playworld servers ?
Would be be aloud to use graal2002 graphics?
Would there be ways for people to donate there money?
and do we get our pw logo printed on any Graalonline merchandise?
I am just asking you this becouse i am working on my playerworld project "MedievalGraal" and i hope to see it up as alist playerworld some day , i am make my own graphics so i can use the 3d graal terrain. The only thing i dont like about make graphics is drawing the buildings.
How did you make buildings for graal kingdoms ?
i hope hear for you some time soon , if like to visit my web site it is www.medievalgraal.com
ok thanks
(tyhm )
Price Range - if I get my way, it'll depend entirely on how many people choose to upgrade based on your world. If enough like your world, we'll actually pay YOU as if you were advertising our service. If nobody upgrades or you let everyone in for free, probably around $60 a month I'd guess - that's how much it costs US to rent a server. Hard to tell though, and that'd be if 0 people register based on your server.
VIPs - They don't get a discount; they do get access to more support tools. We're still debating if only VIPs can host: right now the consensus is yes, as we don't want people hosting worlds that can't even be bothered to sign up for scripting updates.
Priveleges - isn't it obvious? You get a PW all to yourself.
Tools - Pretty much anything we can cook up, everyone gets. Right now we don't have a lot of connection between our own website and Graal (because our webmaster decided the task was too trivial to bother with and it was lagging both servers), but I'm fairly sure something will be worked out.
G2K2 - not just the graphics. If things work out the way they seem to be headed, you can start out with a lite version of G2K2 to modify as you see fit.
Donations - The short version is, if you want to donate, buy an account from the PW you like. Every PW will have a website, so I suppose it would be technically possible to set up a Paypal Donation link; whether or not we'll be happy about it remains to be seen, it's kind of a big deal if our affiliates are making more money than our coder.
Logo - Well, you get your PW logo on Graal in a way. As for the TShirts and so forth...maybe. If this thing really takes off, we might license TShirts with your Graal PW's logo.
Buildings on Graal Kingdoms - we hired a graphics artist to do that stuff. It's essentially scanned in and colored as I understand it, and placed via gani. Works rather nicely.

I really dont have a clue how much it will cost , i just asked tyhm
to give me a idea on the price rang. In my opinion its not going to be less then $10 and not above $60. Some how i got a feeling to make a server free to all will cost more then $15 dollers if then are planning in making some money back.

Hopefully Unixmad will let everyone know about the price rang to have a pw hosted soon.
(I guess $60 could be for the 500mb + Npc server ? i dont know)

Its illegal to use Graal Kingdoms GFX on other servers than GraalKingdoms/Debug without Stefan permission.
And he will never allow that

$60 for a server in the US is with a target audience of Working adults. Graal is for people as yound as 13yrs old, so it cant be too high priced. Also as someone didn mention, they are doing fairly well without payment for PWs, so they wont need to massivly charge us.

Heh...still looks rather small. That is obviously because you resized the map image.

1600 overworld is not bad. Try 2048 Main area is 64x32 with ~5 supplemental areas that are 32x32. My focus is the main area. My extra locations will come later after I've released my main world.

This map is 18:100 scale from the original.

see, now that last map looks big...

but the map for MG is difinatly about 5 x 5 levels
=x
you can tell by looking at the tiles... if it was 1600 levels, there's no way you could make out the tiles..

like the area houdini circled looks like it's about 25 tiles big...

Its possible, but not likely. That's a lot of terrain detail for it to be so small. Just checked actually. I tried to do a crude recreation of the terrain and that simply would not fit in a 5x5 model. Not in the detail he has.

I have to ask you one thing ETD? have you tryed clicking on the image? If you did you should be able to view the Full size map image. I had to resize the image to make it fit in better on the site.

Isn't Graal Medieval anyway?

And compare this map to 2k2 minimap... It's pretty easy to think it could be about 1600 levels...

Graal dose not have a time period! Just becouse you have a sword and a shield dose not make it medieval.
Graal is not set in any time period becouse its not ment to be , in graal you got all sorts of weapons/npc`s , guns from duel hand guns up to ak47`s and you got alot of other non medieval themed stuff.
I dont think evey graal player world wants to be tied down to a medieval styled theme anyway.

Well thats my opinion on graal , you got your own opinion and so dose every one else to interpret how they see graal.

Um, its a game based on Zelda LttP which is Medival-like. The options are there to make it in another time period which many have done, but if you look at most of the PWs online, the majority of them have a medival feel to them

Well as i said before , "everyone got there own opinion on how the interpret what they see".

I dont know if its just me , but i think most playerworlds make me feel i am playing graal classic all over again. Graal Classic is a Good Graal Server but i got bored from playing it in 1999 .
"Era" and a some other playerworlds have some fresh ideas, and they also look like they really put some work in to it with new graphics , scripts and so on.

Speaking about graphics , i have been asking if we would be aloud to use graal 2002 graphics when graal3.0 comes out .
this is what "Tyhm" said.

": VIP = PW Hosting Account
G2K2 Starter Kit = one of the PW Options.

Yes, you will be allowed to use anything from G2K2. In fact, we will give you most of the stuff to start out with. Such is my understanding."
.................................................. .......................................

I just asked him this , becouse i wont have to spend much time drawing and scanning in my builds for my project.

Heh, I'm glad someone has been able to make the obvious conclusion (finally) that the majority of the public PWs are nothing more than a rehash of Graal Classic.

LoL:-)
Thats why our Project`s have to go up , to steal all the players from the Cloned Graal Classic`s.
Cloning Sheep is one thing and Cloning people is another , But can copy the furst Graal Server , thats against all things natural and against nature and every thing sacred about graal LoL:-)

Does my title not indicate anything to you? I got VIP for cheap forum access basically Everything else that I get with it is part of that package I have my VIP tag that, if I so choose to, I can prance around on other PWs to show it off. But that doesn't interest me.
