Whatever happened to?

When graal2k2 was first comming out, it was planned to have jails, npc gaurds, etc.
Whatever happened to that? Is it just on hiatus, or cancelled?

I don't know what hiatus means, but if you mean postponed, or in the works, then yes, I'd say that's probably what is going on.

It's probably pretty easy to add the actual J right. But let's take a look at the rest.

Obviously, we can't let anyone with the J right warp anyone from anywhere to anywhere.
Nor from anywhere to jail.
Warping's kinda silly.
How do they get to jail?
The Jailer drags them?
Calls the Guards?
From anywhere on the island? That's a lot of scripting.
What if the jailed logs off before they get to jail?

The jail itself will be easy to construct, but how does one get out? Time? Attacking the wall? Released by anyone on the outside? Released only by a king or jailer?

Who can jail who? Only Jailers can jail anyone? Even the King? Anyone with J right can jail anyone without? Seems safe, but anyone at all on the kingdom island? Only Kingdom members? Only their own kingdom members?

Under what circumstances? After lowering them to 10% health? What if they're in peaceful? Does this only apply to "invaders", or can jailers jail their own kingdom's members without weakening them first?

My take on it is the Jail has a door that can only be opened on the outside but by anyone. NPC Guards keep those without the J right away from the door - beat or evade them to free your friends, they're basically humanoid wolves without a jump attack, or humanoid bomies more likely. The Jailers can smith Manacles out of Iron Bars, and use them as a weapon on anyone while on their own kingdom island and on tag. Anyone with Manacles on must follow the Manacles owner. Anyone who logs off with Manacles on warps automatically to the Manacles' last position, or in the Jail if they're emptied. The Jailer can pick up Manacles when the victim's been dropped off in the jail.

Difficult to script the Manacles. Very, if you want the jailed to continue to be visible after they log off. About as hard as pets. A scripting project of this magnitude will require taking some good scripters off bigger projects - horses, cooking, etcetera...or I could throw together something lame with server strings...

Well, if you are "jailed" you just get warped there, but in your sidebar thing it says something like Gaurds have bonked you on the headbecause you have commited a crime and have been sent to jail. I dunno hehe

"Bonked on the head" is probably the easiest way to do it. Every Jailer buys a Shileleagh (sp?)/Blackjack with which they BIFF offenders (triggeraction), the offenders fall to the ground and "wake up" in jail...pretty much like the ships. But is this gonna be enough to make everyone happy?

I'm just not in favor of this one.... Thym I like your ideas and all but you need to think more practical... what is GOOD for graal and what is not reasonable... we gotta do the most usefull and easiest to accomplish things first...
