Well, do mods really do anyting super-top-secret anyways? I mean...they close...they delete...they sticky...they move...some can ban/unban, so I don't think you're in danger of information leakage.

At first, I was going to say something to Brad. But now, I decided I won't...instead, I have something to say to you.

So right now you are saying Americans are greedy. Either you are a *****, or extremely jealous. There are a few reasons for this. Americans are always the ones helping other countries. Always. Did you see what happened on 9-11, when, somehow, Americans donated alot of money, time, and (if those 2 things were not possible) sympathy? Wow, that is a huge act of greed.

You guys are so brain dead and ignorant. You watch T.V. and instantly listen to everything it says. Do they have some kind of brainwashing shows wherever you live? I look at other countries, and instead of being braindead and ignorant, I can see they have people who are richer then others, arrogant and greedy, while they also have the humble poor people. Not to mention the average joe, who can either be greedy or generous, depending on how hard they work. Every country has this. But, amazingly, 90% of America's citizens are greedy! My gosh, where did you come up with those statistics?

I am so sick of hearing other countries insult the U.S. every other word. We are only helping just about every country, and yet they still do it. I really do wish you people would get ALOT more educated before saying such *****ic things, like this guy has said. You guys think you are so perfect, look at us we are Europeans and we are better then every other person in existance...news flash buddy, we are all equal.

Also, not to mention....America is the most diverse country in the world. How can you say 90% of Americans are greedy, when about ( a estimate) 30% don't have anything to be greedy about. Alot more people then you could imagine are on welfare, or just doesn't care for money.

Personally, I would rather travel the world, and learn as much as I possibly can. I don't care at all for money. I assure you, there are many others who don't care about money either.

Now stop with your idiotic America insults, because they only show ignorance and jealousy. (If you are that jealous of America, then just come here and get it over with)

1) Patriotism. Your country fed you junk like 'we are so great but the terrorists are bad and they try to attack us but we are great so we will not be defeated rar'. Naturally human instinct says 'yo, I will do my bit for this fine country in which I live god bless the US of A with our beautiful stars and stripes in our fine country where even a poor little boy can make it big time and become some rich guy because the streets of this fine country are paved with gold yessirree, gold like the hearts of the fine people of this fine country'.
2) The media told you to, and the majority of people are too stupid to do anything other than what the media tells them to do.

Yeah, I called Americans stupid. But that's okay, because I'd readily say the same thing about pretty much any country. Humans in general are fairly stupid creatures, y'know? But, to be fair, I think Americans allow themselves to be deluded more easily than the average guy. Hence the huge presence of Christianity and patriotism in the country.
****, Americans pay taxes up the a-hole when it comes that special day in April. Where does it all go? To other 3rd-world contries that need it to buy food. Do we complain? Sure we do, but we worked for the money we give to the Government, and it DOES give us the right to complain.

So was Christopher Columbus an American?

Does the saying

The Sun never sets on the British Empire

something of that nature.

So did france always control canada before it seperated?

How about Mexico where they always in charge of that place?

Alaska was purchased from Russia.
Lousiana Purchase from Napolean.
The original 13 colonies is kind of topsy turvey.
The only area that you could say was truly taken was part of the west coast and south western us. Which the us even gave some money so they didnt feel so bad for taking it.

But if you want to cry and complain about countries taking alot of land go to your history book. Look up imperialism see belgium, France, UK, Germany (I think) Be sure to look at Africa especially

The only people who could truly complain about some one taking lands would be the africans and native americans.

As for Americans just like every body else we have our good sides and bad sides. We're just hated more than most because of our success. Any one who judges every a person just from what country they live in is a complete idiot. It's no better than racism and could be argued that its possibly the same thing.

People always focus on the bad. Yes American has a tendancy to stick its nose in other peoples affairs. Some of it for good reason such as the middle east. Part of the reason the UN is always getting involved in that area is because both World War I and II where started in that area. So the goal of the UN which happens to have the US as one of the major leaders is to stop another world war before it starts. The reason they stick there nose in Iraq's business. Is his willingness to use biological and chemical weapons, even on his own citizens. I could see people worrying about that. I mean if he's willing to use biological weapons on his own citizens what would he do to other countries? ;x

If Americans where such bastards and what not then why after World War II did they donate so much money to the rebuilding adn restoration of europe? Billions of dollars some as donations others as loans that are interest free.
You watch tv on an american channel for one day and I guarantee you will see at least three seperate commercials asking for donations to send to other countries to help feed starving children and what not.

People can whine and cry saying american's are idiots who are brain washed with patriotism. That is just a pathetic excuse to dismiss what they have to say. I would not call myself patriotic I have no interest in money. I prefer to stick to myself but if I see some one in need you had better believe I'm going to do everything that I can to help them. If in your book this makes me an arrogant idiot who is dilluded with brainwashing patriotism then paint me red white and blue.

I would rather be labeled a fool arrogant idiot who helps people
than a whiner who does nothing but cries about the arrogant idiots and does nothing.

Do I really sound like I'm crying? What, anybody who criticises a person or group can automatically be assumed to be 'whining' or 'crying'? Then you're whining and crying about those who criticise Americans.

Some people truly are free-minded, but it's quite rare. Most help others because society tells them to, without really asking themselves what their real motivations are. Patriotism wasn't the only factor I cited.
If Americans live in american wouldnt that mean you're referring to americans as well? Or perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

No the media asks us to. If they didnt ask we quite possibly would never hear about it to know people in other countries where starving to death and there was a way to help. I've never seen a commercial that says give these starving people your money or we'll eat your baby. Just people asking if we can then please send some even a little bit will help etc..

I wasnt referring to you in particular just to the never ending people who do complain. Perhaps I could have worded it better and just used the word complaining. Originally I was going to use another word but figured not a good idea especially seeing as how it would be filtered any how.

I dont know that I have any reasons for helping. If I see some one in a ditch I think hey that person looks like they could use a hand. One time I got off work and there was this little old lady trying to walk 2 miles in a blizzard. Every one was passing by letting her walk. It was freezing out so I pulled over and gave her a lift. Talk about some pissed off people with me blocking the road. But no way I was letting that lady walk that far. Especially when she was wearing a flimsy jacket. ;x ok I'm rambling now and my eye is killing me for some reason.

As for the patriotism not being the only one. It was the only one that came to mind when I was posting I"ll look over it later when my eye isnt hurting and possibly post more.

I think the whole arguement is ridiculous. If you label everyone because of the country they live in, you're no better than a racist person, or sexist person.

All I have to say is AMERICA (as in the country) is a melting pot of people from all nationalities. You cannot blindly say "Americans" are this, or "Americans" are that. I believe there is a lot of tension between North America and a lot of other countries. Mainly because of jealousy towards people living in America. It's easy to understand why we have people of every ethnicity here. They are here because here they are free. Here they have opportunity. Here is just better.

North and South America, I believe, are the best located continents on the planet. Why? Because they are isolated from everyone else. There isn't 50 countries surrounding the US, so there is little conflict close to home.

The funniest part of this whole arguement, is the fact that Kaimetsu is claiming Americans do things that the media tells them to do, yet he is believing everything the media in his country tells him about Americans.

Humans are stupid to what comparison? I mean I agree full heartedly that they are stupid, but I just generally have nothing to compare them to which is smarter..

I live in america and I can say this.. You really can't generalize a country because it is made up of people, and each person is different so to generalize would be to combine them and come up with a average I suppose of how they are..

basically since I live here I honestly do think that 90% of america are utter *****s, complete and oblivious to any common sense what so ever, there are those 10% which do have sense however they are far and few between. That's my generalization

No the us citizens send money over. Why would the government pay for commercials telling us to donate our tax money? United Christian something another fund along with many other organizations. Sponsor a child for 30 bucks a month 1 dollar a day. These funds are put in with other peoples contributions and the money as a whole is used for whats needed food etc.. People do it because they want to not because they have to and not every one chooses to.

Same thing. Most humans are very stupid and have nothing approaching free will. Society says that X is popular so they like X. It says that Y is immoral so they instantly adapt their moral code to cope with the news. Humans are just sheep with less fur.
You obviously know very little about American society and are basing everything on assumptions and hear say. Not good to assume things it has a tendency to bite you in the butt.
Quote:
Am I complaining? It doesn't affect my life, so why would I? I'm just observing, analysing, criticising.
Yes you are complaining. You have no facts to back up what you are saying. You are simply using hear say and assumptions then stating them as a fact when infact it's not. You're observing analysing and criticising rumours and lies.

Quote:
And yet you help anyway. Nothing happens without a reason. Why haven't you ever bothered to figure out what yours is?
Why do I need a reason to help any one? That would emply I expect something in return when in fact I want nothing in return.
Quote:

Depends. I didn't label everybody, I said that Americans have a tendency to act in a certain way. This is not racism, it is merely an observation. Would it be racist to say that cats don't tend to be as intelligent as apes? No. If I said that every American acted in the way I described then, yes, I'd be nothing but a deluded racist. But that's not what I said.
There is a big difference. One is an opinion the other is fact.

Quote:
The continents aren't necessarily so special, but the united nature is definitely a good thing. On the other hand, it's not like all the European countries are at war with each other.
So the last time they where what would have happened if the US had minded its own business and stayed out of foreign affairs?

Quote:
I think the funniest part of this whole argument is the fact that you've tried to accuse me of making unfounded assumptions but based your arguing around - yep - unfounded assumptions. smooth work there.
So just out of curiosity do you always base your entire arguments out of nothing but hear say, opions, and in some cases blatant misconceptions, or lies?

Also please show me where I am making unfounded assumptions and going on rumours and hear say not to mention my own opinions and using claiming its fact?

It isn't his fault he doesnt know that. America history books only have good things in them that makes the american people have a more sence of patriotism. I suggest a book title "What my teacher never told me". Most major book places don't sell it. I don't think any libraries carry it either

Haha, that reminds me of a poem I heard once.

Four and twenty yankees, feeling very dry
Went across the border to get a drink of rye
And when the rye was opened the yanks began to sing
"God bless America, but God save the King!"

(Yeah, I don't get it either)

Im not quite sure what this conversation is about, but I saw Trueheat posted and I thought "oh ill take a look" and I took a look at the last page and I have no clue what everyone's arguing about, so anyone care to fill me in?

And BTW,

Vote to solve the worlds problems,
vote Republican!

(The preceding statement is opinionated and is not being presented as fact, the world problems and/or solutions may be different than the ones adressed by the republican party, any attempt to flame me will be met with a firm blow to the olfactory bulb.

The current argument is mostly about whether or not America is greedy becuase it has 4% of the population, and 25% of everything else.

Kai's arguement that the American Government sends money overseas and not the American people is flawed...Where do you think the Government's money comes from? Most of it comes from the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Sure, if you think about it. We live in the most safest country in the world, i would pay money to protect me from someone shooting an AK donw the road from me, having people have roits while shooting guns in the air, no we dont have that, becasue we pay the American Government to protect us against things like that.

But it still came from the American people. The government these days seems to have forgotten that. And it's not given to the government, it's forcfully taken from the people as you said eariler. Anyway, I don't care about the generousity stuff. My only problem is the government spending our money so inefficiently and spending for their own interests rather than the people's interests. The greed stuff doesn't bother me either. A lot of the United States IS greedy. Greed is to be expected in a free market economy. But greed exists everywhere...not just the US.

Why does everyone hate America? I don't see a reason to. It's not like we're doing anything to you. I assume it's jealousy.

Yeah, why send your troops to war, when you could send the couple of million people you have in jail over there, wow, what a great super power.

Actually if you missed my point, let me make it obvious, I don't see how you American's can run around saying "oyay we r supapowa ph33r us" when you should be called the Crime Nation.

Good gun control and free health care are a considerable difference.
