i want to make a playerworld

I want to make one.

I have like, stuff started, I just don't script very well.

I can't release many details yet, sorry.
I've always wanted to make a good server that's actually worth putting the time into it. Lots of quests/sidequests, an ongoing storyline, blended in with roleplaying and interaction like that (can't release details). Kuza and I were talking a lot about this a while ago, and we stopped for some odd reason, but I still have the stuff and quest-line and sidequests.

That's all for now, until I get a few posts asking for more...

OK.

Anyways,
The screenshot should look very familiar if you read up on Kuza's omagia stuff. I'm going to talk to him to see if he wants to continue to work on this or not. He stopped for some unknown reason. Anyways.

Most of the islands are covered in trees. That's to allow exploration of <secret> and <secret> and <secrets> so that people don't get bored with there being all these towns that you can go to in the beginning. We're going to have these add-ons pre-made so that there aren't really any late releases.

I want it to appeal to the adventurous and roleplaying types of people. Excluding strict roleplaying rules of course.

There are only a few islands that have been worked on so far. Every one of the buildings has an inside and a purpose. There are castle plans for the big blank island directly to the left.

I know Toran's playerworld would rock, and get a very high score. After all, he's seen tons of different ideas :O

That doesn't necessarily mean I would take the ideas from the playerworlds I've seen.

I've got a lot of neat little ideas I was discussing with someone earlier, and he likes them. I just need talented scripters to get started.

No, he has one of those life things or something, so I don't think he'll have time to do any development work.

I owe alot to him though. He generated the world and helped me come up with a lot of what I have so far.

I've been making levels (not for the world, just making levels) for a while now. I can make nicely detailed levels in no time when I'm given a map.

Let me find a screen shot of a regular level or something...

Oh. My RP tryout level for Graal2001.

It was specifically made from what Malak/Vermain has described for people trying out to make. Anyways, here, just to look at it. Nothing really special.

That could very well be the best level I've ever seen on Graal. With the exception of the bench things, which I'm not too fond of. Can you walk behind the green tree at the bottom? If you can, great, if you can't, bad.

Anyway, I think that's one of the best uses of Graal tiles I've ever seen. Not too wild and unrealistic, but not too plain either, and there's nothing that gets in the way of movement around the level. Very good job on that.

I like the benches, the shadow tiles just look a little out of place, i'd use the bench tiles and make a shadow img and use drawunderplayer or something along those lines... not that i'm a level maker..

The tops of the cliffs look horrible. They just don't join up properly. Granted, that's more the fault of the tiles than the tiler, but it still detracts from the aesthetic value.

Yes, and when the shaddow features were added, I made a small shadow script and included it around trees that needed it, you just can't see them because of the alt+1 = no lights in screenshot.

I try to keep it so all of my single placed trees (and even more, like in a small group of 3-4) so you can walk behind them. I don't like being blocked by tons of trees.

I don't know if I need level makers yet. Most of the levels are going to be made by me so there is no clash of styles, and, I know what needs to be done/what I want so that it rings together.

That's a major problem I've seen with playerworlds lately. There's too much of a style-clash on level places because one part was made by someone, and the other by someone else.

WC, what is your problem? Fact is, anyone can make a PW, people cannot say "You are global staff, no PW making for you" because, guess what, behind the scenes they could work on a PW then quit once it is done. No to mention, if you have the skill to work on more then one thing at once effectively, which is a smart thing to do so you never get bored, then why take that away?

the point isnt if they could or not

its the fact they are global staff they have influence over administrators and especialy unixmad and stefan.

andits not fair, thats where graal corruption comes in.

Thumbs up

The crack thing Warcaptain said was funny, but I am a weirdo.

The level Toran shown looks pretty nice, about average overall, but the map scares me. It's one of the biggest maps I have ever seen since seeing the TCN map.

Toran I'm sure you can get what you want done. Not sure how long it will take to detail all the levels though. Good Luck on your mission.

If all the ideas/planning falls into place. This server would attract a lot of players and surpass the fun factor on any other playerworld that I know of. There was something for everyone. It would bring out the Graalian in everyone.

Its not a matter of influence, it is a matter of the following -

A) Stefan can see the skill of a person working in GO staff, so if they wanted to make a PW Stefan is smart enough to realize the potential

B) They have a person they can trust, and if that person has everything from A, then they have a sure shot deal.

C) They own the servers and can do whatever they want with them.

Seems unfair, but if you think it is then try working in a GO position, and we will see how unfair it is after you gain the trust, and get them to recognize your skill...as much or greater work then making a PW. In the end it all equalizes.

Yes it's not fair I'm discriminated against because of my past staff positions. I was working on Oasis long before I worked on 2k2 (when I was global). I stopped working on Oasis the entire time I was working on 2k2, and started working on Oasis once I quit my job.

I agree with Soulblade, it's much more unfair to be friends with Stefan and have him trust you and have everyone else become jealous or whatever because they don't talk to Stefan all the time and he doesn't know them.

Warcaptain, you act as if Stefan and Unixmad are idiots and these staff are taking advantage of them or something. You're being a complete jackass and I don't know why you decided to hold a grudge against me, but you're just looking foolish with your biased opinions.

You say the staff have "influence" over stefan/unix. It's not like I am friends with Stefan so I can get special treatment from him, I'm friends with him because we share the same interests and work on Graal with the same goals. If "influence" is Stefan having knowledge of your abilities, and having trust in you, then fine, but I don't force him to do things against his will.

It's like you can't be trusted by Stefan without people assuming you brown nose.
