Make it a free server?

I think now that GK is out and sucked up all the players from g2k1 we should make g2k1 a free server so the classic people can experience how great it is and myabe they'll really like it and then after they get bored they decides to upgrade and try Graal kingdoms and it would be a waste of space to keep it here anyway since theres like a max for 10 ppl and almost all are staff.so it's basically like this we can let it sit on gold and no one would play and waste space and waste time of the g2k1 developers or we can make it a free server and get alot of people and the staffs work would get seen.so what do you think?vote now

Yes I agree, none of the Player Worlds are FREE. That is a thing of the past.

Be nice to see how it would do in the classic tab.
More than likely its numbers would increase and Graal BM is the kind of server that needs lots of players to be fun.
And I don't think moving it would lose too much money for Stefan and Unix for people that upgrade to play it.
Most gold players now play Graal Kingdoms so they would stil upgrade to play it.

Your poll is months late. We had another one like this a long time ago, and the votes were far more in favor of yes than no, with higher ratios, too.

And it stayed Gold. Soo...

Iv'e been playing classic servers alot lately and belive me:
GBM wouldn't make it on classic. There are very few people who pay for classic so they can get a job on a server and press 'd' alot and make money. Classic players are moe of the hack and slash type that enjoy pking.

Don't get me wrong I only want the best for GBM. It is my home server and always will be. But making it a classic server, I feel, will not fix the current problem.

I guarantee that nothing will happen until Jeff and I have had a change to reorganize things and bring back players.

Then (and only then) can any valid opinion be formed about the server.

I love GMB to death, but let's be honest. THERE IS NO WAY YOU'RE GOING TO BRING BACK PLAYERS. The only way GMB will get a population is if its moved under the Classic tab or 2k2 comes crashing down.

Once Graal3d comes around, you'll probably see the same numbers on 2k2 as you do 2k1 now, since everyone will move on to it. Trust me, nothing you do will bring people back to 2k1.

A new overworld would probably do the trick, but I still don't think it would get as many people as it would if you put it under the classic tab.

My god, a new arrangement in staff isn't going to do anything either unless you do something with a giant impact, such as moving it under the classic tab or a new overworld.

What you say sounds nice, and would be convincing, if the reader doesn't know the former state of our staff (No organized projects, no hiring, nothing being done).

You must admit that having SOMETHING being done is better than having nothing productive being done.

2k1's a great server...you shouldn't have given up on it, Jourdan. I haven't given up on it, and have no plans to.

Consider this.

People left graal2001 because it became boring to them.

Other people left because the playercount dropped because of this as well as because of 2k2.

Less people = more boring, so more people left.

This spiral continued unabated.

However, I am looking to stop this spiral. I encourage anyone who cares about 2k1 to start playing it again; if not now, then when we announce all the many new things being released.

If you come and stay and play, others will do the same. The playercount will go up, causing others to come back. Face it, many people left 2k1 to go to other playerworlds (They didn't all go to 2k2).

And finally, with more people coming back and staying, the more fun the server will become. Meanwhile, we will still be working on bettering the server overall.

Graal2001 can succeed as a gold server. It just needs work, and that's what Jeff and I, and by extension our development staff, are doing our best to accomplish.

I agree what Tseng say but I said no. I don't think its right for it to go on a classic server. Then people can hack it and screw it up. So I say no. Leave it as a gold server!

I'd love to see it go classic, and our playercount skyrocket......
But I'd also love to see what Tseng and Jeff have up their sleeves...

Would be nice to see it skyrocket, but that's definitely not the solution.

Moving it to classic tab is remedying the symptoms without solving the problem.

Sometimes, perhaps. However, it's not like we can go to the classic tab for an arbitrary amount of time while we work on it, and then go back to gold.

Going to the classic tab is a one-way street. And, in my opinion, it is the last resort. That is, if everything else fails, then that would be the only remaining option.

However, as you said before, I do have many things up my sleeve to stimulate recovery. Only time can (and will) tell.

Hence my earlier post, I attempted to imply going under the classic tab would be MARVELOUS, but first I would like to see what you and Jeff have in store for us.

Then I'm glad we agree that it would be much better to wait before taking that course of action.

I'd play Bomy Moon if there was a decent walkthrough for it...I got on it one time and didn't know what to do or anything. Luckily the staff helped me get a sword, but after that I was clueless. Someone should make a walkthrough for it if there's not already a good one. I've already done plenty of net searching for one with no success. It's sad that the player count is so low because there's a lot of neat things that I found in my one day trip. I'll check it out again tho cause classic is getting pretty freakin' annoying and boring.

This isn't JUST about making it free, if you'll notice, it's shifted to playercount etc, and that's what we need.... so therefore, this thread is serving a worthwhile purpose.

I am not an 'it'. I am a human being like you (?). The issue of making 2001 free has already been discussed and resolved elsewhere. So this is just a repeat of another thread. Thus making it pointless.

I would play it, if things changed. 2k2 is beyond boring now, which is why I'm never on Graal.

a.) Take down sword quest.
I already got the sword, but, the fact that the more you kill monsters, the stronger your sword becomes, is boring. Slashing away at glitched monsters for a long time gets old.

b.) Reset. I know that Stefan is against it (I believe), but its the fact that he would get MORE business with a reset, since people have a fair start, and actually want to play on it now.

c.) (I'm not sure if this has happened yet, so don't rant me away if I made a mistake) Get rid of the unfinished and not to be finished quests. Its annoying to see all this stuff, and expect it, when it will never come out.

Thats about it, except for the health system and bodies, which I know for a fact will never be lifted.

Actually, now it seems more that the 2K1 staff think they can fix the economy without having a reset.

It takes time to accomplish this big a job.

And, it's not like we have unlimited chances to attempt things to fix things with.

I didn't take my time to read all of the posts, so I'm not sure if this point has been made but...

What is the point of making it a non-gold server? It's not as great as it used to be, so (see quote) need not apply.

I say reset after these drastic changes are made...if the player count is still low make it Classic style free but with an expception or two (like only vip members or someone that payed for a 1 year gold account have unlimited access to it.)

Cool

Graal Bomy Moon could do with more basic staff, no?

I'm just saying here that I'm willing to help out. I'd play on GBM again. GK is really getting on my nerves, and I've been wanting to play it less and less. GBM was the reason I got a paid account in the first place .. I'd hate to see it just fade from existance.

So .. yeah. If you ever need an extra FAQ or something, I'm here. I think I could handle it. :o Either way, I'll be on GBM more often now. I'm anxious to see some of the things you have planned for the server.

You obviously don't know the histor of Graal2001(BM)...

It was once a great server with always over 80 people on and toped out around 120-140. You can't just take a server down like that without giving it a chance.

Look at the amount of posts in the Graal2001 Main forum alone. Its about half the amount in the whole message board. People love Graal2001. And as for me I love it too, I just haven't been playng it lately due to not alot of things new...
