POLL!! Which Graal do you like most?

With all of this talk about Graal 3D lately, I've started thinking about how great it could possibly be again. I've always wanted Graal 3D, because as we know, Graal is inspired by the Zelda series and my two most favorite games from that series are both of the 3D ones (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask)

So, to help give Stefan an idea of what the players want, please vote in this poll. Vote for what Graal you are MOST interested in playing ABOVE the other choices. It doesn't mean you want the other ones to stop production but it would mean that you have the most interest in the one you pick.

NewWorld. I like 2d graphics better than anything else. And it looks like it will be very fun. I hope it will be really innovative and addicting. And imagine sparring in Graal 3d.

I can imagine sparring in Graal 3D It would be very fun! I mean come on, does anyone here honestly like A Link to the Past more than say, Ocarina of Time? If you do, you are NUTS. There is no doubt about it, Ocarina is a superior game in every conceivable aspect.

That is the kind of potential that Graal 3D has as well.

And I know that some people don't like comparing Graal to Zelda, but if you had to compare it to something, it would be Zelda. So please don't anyone jump on me for using that comparision

The only thing that would make sparring fun in Graal3d would be a targeting system like in TOoT. You could target onto them, and dodge attacks, and then shield others, and stuff... Except that is Zelda and this is Graal and I don't think Graal wants to get sued.

and MM > TOoT.

I actually liked the gameboy Zelda and the SNES ones better. I dunno, for some reason when a game turns 3D it loses some of that magic games have...nowadays people are going for realism more and more...always losing the magic that games have in being an escape from reality...

Newworld for another reason too... It would be a fresh start. Graal2001 seems like a slapped together thing that evolved over time and here it is. Newworld would be a fresh start for them to do things differently.

Well,I would REALLY like to see Graal3D,but theres a few things I probably wouldn't like about it. Mainly:The control. Imagine using the arrow keys on either 3D zeldas. It wouldn't work out that great. =/
But other than 3D,I would most like to see New World come out,Graal needs something very new for us to do,and New World will be it.And maybe if New World is released,The people will be occupied with it, and Stefan or someone will be able to work on 3D.
Theres a free, offline game just like Graal/Zelda called Egoboo, except its mostly 3D. If you want to see what I mean,go to gamehippo.com and look for it in adventure or RPG section.

I like 2D games too, if not I wouldn't be here right now. But there is only so much appeal to 2D, Graal would draw far more revenue if it was 3D. That is also a very important aspect that Stefan needs to keep in mind. As for the gameboy zeldas, I do love them but graphically they are far less appealing. I can't believe you feel that Ocarina of Time doesn't have the same 'magic' as those other 2D Zeldas (not to mention Majora's Mask, which is incredible but since it conforms to the Zelda mold less than Ocarina I prefer to compare Graal to Ocarina) I know many 3D games are lifeless and apart from the Graphics they don't have much going for them. You gotta admin the Zelda series is different (or most of anything Nintendo makes for that matter) My opinion of course but...

Hmm. Quick show of hands: Who here can realistically script in 3D?

I know, I know. That is the biggest hurdle. But big deal, it can be done. it would be quite a learning experience ^_^ And with just a little research you can be doing 3D graphics in no time.

I personally can do it, and I could probably name about 3 others who could do it well, but most people will never manage it. Still, for those who could do it, imagine what they could make...

But that's besides the point. Scripting things is what a lot of people play Graal for in the first place. If you take it to a level that they'll never understand then you'll lose them.

You know I just realised, once New World is really off the ground and available, and Stefan begins work on Graal 3D (assuming that he does) Graal 3D will need a new catchy name! Not just "Graal 3D" too bland! any ideas!?

OmniGraal
Graal: The-version-that-sucks-the-least
Graal Infinity (or the infinity symbol instead of writing out 'infinity')
I Know What You Did Last Graal
Stefan Got Fingered

Okay so my ideas suck, oh well

Yeah, it did sound like that, didn't it? It wasn't meant to. Okay, ignore the bit that referred to me, and focus on the rest. One way or another, there is a very small number of people who can/will be able to do it.

I'd go back and edit it out but now that it's been quoted there'd be no point. I apologise, and if it was bragging then it was a subconcious thing.

Okay, I'll accept that you didn't mean it to sound like that, it's okay.

But I do feel that there is interest, LOTS of interest. What we will probably need to do in order to find people with those types of skills though, is go out there, to other places on the internet, and say "hey, you know Zelda 64? Well there is an online game a lot like it, and we really need people to help us out!" I feel confident that many people playing quake, half-life, etc, that are into doing 3D mods for said games will want to come and work on Graal 3D. There aren't many people doing things with 2D these days, everyone doing 3D stuff is already out there working on their 3D stuff, but if we tell them about Graal 3D then we can recruit some talent, I'm sure of it.

Not to mention, todays Graal 2D scripters/artists are tomorrows Graal 3D scripters/artists. It's a progression thing.

Only time will really tell what really happens I guess

I should also point out that some of the maths skills that would be needed are pretty advanced and above what most Graalians have reached up to now. The vector manipulations and suchlike are pretty danged complicated. Even expert Graal 2D scripters may have problems in the conversions simply because 3D is so much more demanding.
