PastAustin's cool.

Why? New inventory menu.

This is only the start of things to come; the menu is still in beta stages, it needs to be updated graphically, and quite a few things are going to be added before it's released and becomes standard serverwide.

It's open for testing to anyone who wants it, though I'm keeping it to a limit of 10 players.

Screenshots included in this post and two subsequent ones.

The below screenshot is a screenshot of the menu along with the expandable options window, after being dragged across the screen so you can see me!

Looks great. We'll have to do some serious re-hauling to lure people back from the free servers, though. Gold server populations have dropped substantionally.

Hehe, don't worry, it'll be deleted eventually.

The graphics on the menu WILL be updated, and a boatload of new stuff added, courtesy of our newest Developer. ^_~

I wouldn't necassarily call that development. Someone scripting a new inventory for you is hardly development. I don't think a new inventory menu is going to reel in the players. It does the same thing as the normal one, just in a different way.

Anyways, this is just the beginning of an entire thing. I've been waiting for someone to script a decent inventory, thanks to PA I can finally start on what I've wanted to for a while; totally revamping 2k1's NPCs and so forth. I'm not going to reveal all of my plans, however.

To be honest, I don't like that inventory. It's like a rip of 2k2's and you can only see 3 items at once? I have like 40 items or something, how am I supposed to access something quickly? I think I would like to keep the old inventory thanks.

That's a good point, konidas. It should be made bigger.

Look for a new tileset within 2 months, and the desert up soon (NOT TUNNEL) too

When I said graphical updates, I didn't mean just making it look fancier. The size will be increased, along with functionality and other stuff.

Depending on how my good NAT friends feel and how well they decide they can script, we might even make it resizable.

nice concept, but konidias' point shouldn't be taken lightly. it would take too long to get to the end of your inventory. how about a drop-down menu? :o

I think for an inventory for g2k1 you should use the way the hats and trade items are set up.. it would fit in better that way. Just throw all the items into a circle around the player.

Sort Of Like WinAmp. (Note: You could do that with almost anything in Graal.) But still I wouldn't want a standard one looking like that.

It's a good idea, but then it would take away from my unified ideas; on top of that, if a player screwed up...

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! *is allured by bread and has the level you were wanting* I am no man's man...*feels dumb for saying that*

In other subjects, the inventory system is a lot cooler than some darn screenshot. :-/. It is great, cause it allows for sounds changes (possibly custon sounds if you want) also it is draggable, mouse functions work (you can click a weapon to select it). Another nice feature is that you have "favorites", where you can right click on a weapon and press any number key (0-9) and that weapon gets set as favorite number # and whenever you like (anywhere in the playerworld without the q weapon menu being open) you can press that number and IMMEDIATLY be sent to the npc, now that is a nice feature, reccommended by Er1c (thank ya) and there are many thing that brew in my mind that no one knows or dares to dream of.
