Just what IS killing graal2001 and where does everyone go.

There used to be tons of people on, now there are only like, 70 at PEAK times (yeah, I know, lots of topics on this already). I believe all the people are going to classic, but I might be wrong (other then the 10 or so that quit completely). Also, apparantly Graal2001, is, for some reason, not as fun as it used to be, as people are quitting, the reason I posted this is because every other thread is about what Graal2001 should GAIN to get back people, but I want to know what it LOST.

Probably because pressing D lots to get money with nothing to spend it on is not anyones idea of fun. Well theres hats but they are pointless unless you can be bothered to try and collect them.
Then theres enough quests to last 30 mins. 1 hour max.
Then theres...oh yeah. Nothing.
G2K1 doesnt have enough stuff to keep people entertained.

Harsh? Maybe. True? Yes.

It's all because Rabid gave me an extremely ugly mask and a red wizard's hat. :P

Well actually, I think a large part is boredom, another large part is the CC Fraud thing, and a small part is people who prefer just spending their time developing instead of playing.

Thumbs down

actually on the note of CC fruad I had some one pm me trying to buy an upgrade for his account with gralats. Then he laughed and told me the price I stated was a rip off when he could get it for like 1000g or less cant remember the price. In which I remarked yeah if he wanted to get banned for CC fruad. Any ways my point is asking people for upgrades should get you banned Immediatly. Nothing more annoying than playing a game and some stupid bastard trying to mooch money off me. :grrr:

[EDIT]
and I see masses regularly on people selling upgrades and people tryin to buy upgrades for there accounts and I'm sure thats where the major CC problem is

Actually, I do believe that upgrading accounts for Gralats once was illegal. Though of course I'm not completely sure if this is still the case.

*Waits for Alkaren's input*

well when lots and lots of people buy upgrades with fruad CC# they're losing money in transaction fee's especially when 60% of the actual orders are all from Fruad CC numbers that are being done by people buying upgrades for Gelats not to mention its annoying to people having people private message them asking for upgrades or seeing it in mass messaging peopl dont want to play as much when they're constantly being pestered for money. If it wasnt the fruad I still wouldnt want idiots pming me and asking me for money if I have my mass messaging turned off there is a reason for that.

I blame Stefan.

They were semi-fine with Stefan, now he's deserted Graal2001 for Graal2002. You need to keep customers happy, not let them sit and wait for something.

The Reason my friend quit.....

my friend quit because he could barrly get 1000g (that was when it was just started) but a bomy was like 1.5k!
My friend finnly got 2.5k and boms became 2-2.5k and I finnly got 3.2k and now there over 6k!!!

hats and bomys have gone up, and dolls and other things have gone down....

so EVERY thing i own has now gone down in price, but the things i want have gone up.

Soon i will be leaving.
like when my account is dome, i will Never re-upgrade unless the stuff is fixed.

P.s. I was told g2k2 was comming out in January, 4 mounths later they say "It has problems still"

so for futher servers, make a seacret server (and tell no one) and once it is PERFECT tell people and let them play (but dont add every thing, only a few things so every 1-2 weeks there could be somthing new.)

it used to be that itd be updated almost every day.

but since stefan stopped updating it, and hired these lazy amins to do it who care more about their own selves and their own servers that they use 2k1 to test stuff on.
halfthe time i see the staff in their own private rooms or walkng around with special npc's (which i thought werent allowed btw?)
and when they arent on player acc, which i most of the time, they are on RC\NC, probably testing their toys for their pw *cough* shadow knight & birdbird_0 *cough* i think it shouldnt be allowed to hire developers who are making their own p2p servers. itd be fine to hire a staff who OWNS a p2p server, but not one that is making one, then theyd be using the server to test their stuff all the time, like sk and birdy do.

stefan needs to take a look at developmnt, a few new levels IS NOT gonna keep playes coming back.

2K1 was fun the first day it came out, it was a new land to explore, and I found fun in just travelling the countryside, then I tackled the quests. But the only problem, was that there were, and still are very few quests. They stopped taking player submissions for quests and levels, saying that they wanted to look more professional, but some of the most memorable levels on Graal back in the classic times, were those designed by the players. Also, the climate on G2K1 is horrible, there is an air of deceit, and you almost can't even trust your friends anymore. Everyone is looking to scam each other out of something. Money is the greatest problem on 2K1. Remember when you could pull gralats out of bushes? Nobody thought anything of losing a few gralats before, because they could be easily replaced.
As for me. I have been logging on to Graal less and less lately.
I would rather play a game where others are friendly, than Graal, where the backstabbing runs on a regular schedule.

exactly

now falados comes in and now everything is super duper ex*****ve and he is taking all the money away, making things very ex*****ve.

so now we have even less thanks to him. so instead of making a new job that takes a good ammt of money to start off in, he just tkes the money away with nothing in return.

THANKS FALADOS, YOU STINK FOR THAT

Let's wait until G2k2 will be released... Then, Graal Online will get alot of players again...
And I guess that many people that have quit already, will come back to see and maybe play Graal2002

(and maybe Maloria LOL heh)

unfortunatly, alot of pople were banned for credit card probs

and alot of others are bored cuz the developers are doing crappy job, so they stop ugrading and probably wont bother to upgrade for 2k2.

Actually we have not less account upgrades,
the thing is that there are now less cc frauds because
of the use of paypal. But it's true that Graal2001
can be boring because there is not much to do and
is not interesting enough to play it for more than a
few month. The players liked that there were a lot
of updates, on the other hand also many people
complained because those updates were more for
short time fun, not planned. In the last few months
stuff on the server was mainly made by players, but
for scripters it is often more interesting to try out
special effects and make cool things because they have
not the power to completely change the server and
make everything like they would like to.
Graal2002 will be released soon, it took a lot of time
but it's probably good for the game, instead of just releasing
something like 2001 with new gfx. Stéphane (unixmad) will
soon post more informations about the future of Graal.

I used to find Graal fun because you can pretty much customize it to what you want it to be(make your own levels, scripts, graphics, etc). Stefan tried to make Graal 2001 or 2002 more professional and didnt allow player houses, levels, etc(wheres the fun in that?).

The other part of Graal that made it fun was its players. I used to have alot of friends that played Graal, most of them quit...no one to talk to or go PK'ing with, spar, etc. The guilds were awesome... SM, NBK, Baddies the 3 main ones...now theres a bunch of unloyal guild *****s.

Thats pretty much what fun i had on Graal, none of it is left so thats why I quit graal awhile ago.

You could always submit stuff for Graal2001, I checked
every single submission, and nice stuff got online, like
bomy gfx, ctf, hats, trees, bomy quest etc.
But it got less with the time, it seems people more like
to do their own stuff and get all fame for themself (or nothing)instead of helping others or the community.
