Movement problems

OK, this has been going on for awhile and I finally decided to post about it:
When I play on graal, I cant see like 90% of the people move or see what they say, I don't know why this is happening, it was working fine before, I dont lag, I have a cable modem so I'm stumped on what is going on =(

Hey, I get this too. Try turning off UDP and I bet it works again.

That did help, the movement is a little jumpy but its better than what I had, only noticable difference I think is a little more lag and it takes longer to log onto a server, what does the UDP do that made me not able to see movements?

I really don't know. Normally movements are sent via UDP but for some reason the newest clients don't seem to be sending it 100% reliably. So if you turn it off then everything is sent via TCP, which is inherently super-reliable.

ya I was having the same problems, when I was on my uncle's computer, he has vibe and its networked to two outta 3 of his computers,the 3rd has a seperate line,and when I played graal no one moved but on the non-networked comp everthing was fine.

Same here (well kindof) graal worked 100% fine before I networked my computer to my mom's laptop

the high speed lines lose packets more then the lower ones.... thats why its better to use TCP other then UDP

That's a rather ill-conceived blanket statement. Yes, UDP is less reliable because it eschews error-checking in favour of speed of transfer, but it's also something like 3 times faster. If you're dealing with something that doesn't need to be uber-reliable like movement then UDP is far superior.
