this is good, but it also saves backpal changes, and it shouldnt..

because with the daynight systems on some servers, it will save with long streaks in the levels from night time where players walked at night.

so this should be removed (saving backpal effects)

Hm. Hard to say. What about underwater maps, moon maps, maps that use backpals on purpose?

Maybe it doesn't save backpals set by weapons to the map? Or backpals with a special nightpal command?

But then, if day/night is a special P2P feature anyway...

The auto-mapping takes screenshots and draws them
on the map (screenshot is taken before the daynight
effect and status bar are drawn). So it would be
hard to take out the palette effect, since the palettes
are not chanded dynamically, and normally not
meant for things like day/night.

is there a way to disable it, because i dont want it on enigma.

1) enigma uses backpal for day/night
2) it saves the screenshot with the player in it, so you see the player in each level (lame)

then go karts came out and we go there would the map update itself with the auto map thing and add them there?

According to the newfeatures.txt it should do that.

I think it's a really terrific idea...just needs to map before weapon backpals and exclude the player.

Unleeeeeessssssssss we're allowed to use seteffect on free servers, and only upgraded accounts can see it.

How about adding a popup box that asks if you want to include day/night effects and backpals in the map? And I do have to agree that little black dots all over the map looks stupid... Couldn't it just automap by showing parts of the servers map image, depending on where you've been, without drawing the player on it?

(Hmm... Stefan's probably peeved... he gives us something new and what do we do? Witch about it... hah XD)

its an excellent feature, but it isnt good with backpal and player saving

if you use warpto it saves your player char, and if your ap goes up when you do it, it even shows your name on the map under the player head, i cant even use map warp without fuging up the bigmap now.

I haven't got any problems with it yet. Text doesn't appear
on the map. Like I said the player is just 1 pixel and only
is put on the map if you warp.
Yes it updates the map automatically, you can even
delete newmainmap.png

I think this is a great thing but when I go on my PW (not on yet) the minimap shows up as the Bigmap and the minimap doesn't change?
