new Version graal

Wehn i use the setup.exe it downloads the things
then when it go's the install the Graal program it has an error message
It deleted m,y current version of Graal so i can't get back on.
Stefan Please fix this bug. Anyways could someone please send me the Graal Program at [email protected]

What you want to do is redownload the setup.exe, I had the same problem and that fixed it.

And after having redownloaded setup.exe install the program into an empty fresh directory.

That wasn't necessary when I did it, but it may help. I just installed to the old directory and it was fine.

Just redownload it, reinstall fresh as mentioned. Its not a very large file, and if your connection is THAT slow where you complain about a tiny file like that, maybe you're too slow to even play graal in the first place (note: laggers sux0r)

Laggers don't suck! Laggers deserve to play too- if they're so bad they can't play, they pay for it by... not being able to play!

Have you ever been in a sparring match against a lagger? Its like they have some special ability, they are always hitting you when you think they are on the other corner of the room! Tis not fair at all. Or like in CS (i ran into this a lot) I would fire missiles at them, and even though it hit them, due to their lag the are not damaged! you have to time it just right to where the missile would hit them about 3 seconds before it actually would in order for it to actually damage them (more or less determined by how laggy they are)

Hmm, would that mean that Zulithe wouldn't like me on Graal? Heh, well I guess so, I'm one of the guys who lags in such a way that he always looks to be somewhere else for others while being able to see the others walk around flawlessly. Luckily for everybody I rarely spar and I never PK.

You'll never hit someone in CS if you see the shot hit them, even if they're not lagged, there's still latency transmitting the information to the server. Lagged people are pretty easy to beat at CS, but it's true that in sparring they are extremely difficult to beat.

Lag is a fact with Graal. You just have to learn to spar with it and against it. Think of it as an extra challenge.

I've adapted to it... Though when it takes a full minute for the hearts to appear after picking up a pot, like it sometimes does... well, there really isn't any point to trying to play on those days. lol

I do mind having to wait forever to read signs, though.

Hmm, I think that perhaps signs should have stayed client side while the pots and stuff are server side. Since it doesn't really matter for the other players if a person is reading a sign or not.

Yeah, I wondered why Stefan made that a feature in 2001. I really don't see the benefit.

Thats a good point. And now signs load slower, you walk up to a sign and you have to wait about a second before the text pops up, and it just generally is bound to create more lag over time. As more and more players play and more and more signs are created, the server will be sending out all this sign data that could otherwise be client side and reduce LAG. What is the motivation behind signs being server side?

This topic went from help to lag, but just redownload it and like make a new folder called Graal and delete the other one, thats what I did when mine didnt work
