Dante's 10 step process for making a playerworld like everyone else

1) Think of an idea for a playerworld at 3:00 am or whenever and write it down.

2) Brainstorm. Take a couple of ideas and think of how they'd work.

3) Think of a name.

4) Send hordes of mass messages asking for talented NPC scripters. Sell your idea to your friends to get them to work on the best playerworld ever.

5) Start on the first main outerworld levels. If done manually, quit at this point and scrap the project. If done with level generator, proceed to step 6.

6) Add in a few towns houses etc.

7) Add NPCs to those houses. If able to do graphics, make them and continue. If not, quit in frustration.

8) Make dungeons filled with baddies.

9) Steal an NPC script and as many ganis as possible.

10) Complain about the Playerworld administration team ad infinitum.

The steps I'm using:
1.Create overworld/outline using level gen.
2. Create storyline with a detailed plot and characters (I'm on this part for a playerworld I started that I work on in my spare time)
3.Write out some main towns and what they will do in the storyline and draw a rough sketch of what they'll look like and start work on storyline quests.
4.Build the main towns and add NPC's that move about the town doing things randomly that gives it a touch of realism.
5.Add some small towns that aren't necessary for the growth of the story but are fun or can be used to collect an item to start a quest or such.
6.Start major work on quests and make sure they fit in with the plot/storyline.
7.Add house insides that fit with the outside of the house,like don't make a giant steel hosue and then have the insides look like it is made of plants.
8.Add in some small things to do so the players don't gt bored after they finish the main stuffsuch as fishing,etc.
9.Let some friends test it and tell you what needs to be fixed and what doesn't fit/make sense.Fix those and then on to step 10!
10.Submit it to Genmo or TrueHeaT and if it makes it cry about how long it's taking to go on the server list.

Don't be a *****. Level generator is great if you use it the right way. It automatically creates land features for you, saving you a lot of time.

90% of my map is made using level gen, but if you go back and modify the levels right, you would never have known they were made using the level gen.

No no you're doing it all wrong!
1-Get bored and start thinking of making a playerworld
2-Tell everyone you have a great playerworld!
3-Rip NPC job scripts from other servers, along with gani images etc.
4-Make 10 "kill all the baddies" quests
5-Make a huge world with levelgen and add 10 new tiles in each level
6-Rip more from other servers
7-Make stupid towns that all have a cave or forest behind it with the kill all the baddies quests.
8-Donate 500$ to Stefan or buy loads of p2p and VIP accounts
9-Submit your server
10-Get your server online and get it sued because of copyright stealing.

OR a 4-step playerworld project:
1-Copy Graal Bomy Moon
2-Delete the bomy's and rename and edit the levels and storyline a bit
3-Submit
4-Get it online because it's so good and makes people think of bomy moon

I still say levelgen/terraingen are very useful I'm not going to be shocked about someone doing levels by hand because I already do them by hand after I generate them. ::sigh:: They are so very useful tools and even more potent in the right hands

1b). Go download playerworlds, and npc's from people's websites.

2). Okay now it's time to use the level generator!. Generate an overworld that is 700x700 levels.

3). Make a main place that has 50 million tile errors, retarded plants, and a stolen light npc, and a npc that sticks you on a wall.
Then, detail 4 outside levels, these outside levels will be the best levels on your pw.

4a) Time to hire people. Go on every single playerworld and mass that you need staff.
if that doesn't work, resort to plan 4b
4b). Hire 2 of the most well-known level stealers in graal and they'll finish up the levels for you, then they'll quit.

5). Hype up your playerworld with the Doomsday method. (omg!)

Before you submit your playerworld, you must have these positions filled and the people must fit perfectly into them.
