Lightbulb New way of giving Event Prizes

I realize there has been some problems with Event masters having limited rewards from the fear of abusive EMs or what have you, but I have a suggestion to fix all that.

Anyway, what if you had a system where there was some sort of machine inside each event room, or that can be spawned if it's some sort of non-official event. EMs could list the goal, and once this goal has been completed by a player participating in the event, something in the coding would award the player a spin (so EMs don't technically give anything) , and when that player uses the machine, it spins a random item, much like tigbot, only has a higher chance for ECs. This machine could also have parameters set by the EM (anywhere from 1-5 ec, or any item in the game, etc.)

To prevent abusive EMs, anyone on tag would not be able to use the machine, and if they can not use a machine within 10 minutes of being on-tag (so they cant just spawn it, host an event, switch, do it, and win)

Anyways, let me know what you guys think. I was talking with tashkin earlier and he said it was a pretty cool idea.

Cool because a new event prize system is long overdue and that prize limit sure is annoying

Well to solve that you could put a minimum amt. of players required to star an event or so.

So all you would really be doing is requiring me to logon more accounts, XD (through vm's).

People as it is don't participate in the events they currently have.. well, sometimes they will shoot for 50% participation which is pretty good if you got 10 of 20 people in an event. If more people played event's.. more events could be hosted.. more prizes could be earned.

maybe I'm just being a gamblefiend, but allowing a player a choice of an event coin or more for a very intense event, or a chance at an "Event Tigbot" which has chance of godly items, but 90% garbage... It'd get me into events again!

(for ways to prevent abuse just have an automated /global of what item the player won, a logged system, and perimeters set to not allow one account to use it more than once in an hour)

no matter what type of reward system, there's always going to be a chance to abuse, get used to it already

yeah just have a trusted team, only one person abused in the time I was EA (for a year) and it was Dinji_Jinto- I caught him by the time he spawned 55 ec. most of his items were burned in front of him as a punishment, and he was fired. Nobody even thought about it after that

I maintained an active playerbase of 30-40 players during most of the time I was the Events Admin, and played 5-8 hours a day actively -- not sure if you were playing at the time Nico, but there was actual pking and stuff happening. new players joining the Kingdoms and epic wars, fun events taking place, and a solid working economy, not sitting in a trade idling until the next big holiday event..

The economy is dying because of bad item stat choices, and overflow of items incoming from the loads of box-related holiday events... today you said you "don't care" enough to try to get things going or working on serious things..

fyi, I was fired for changing stats on the Satan mask on debug to remove the cold resistance -15 on it prior to release

quite immature to start an argument in a civil thread, don't get coc- ky. I don't think you're that much of an asset to the GK staff team that you can publically insult and defame anyone you're intolerant of

you have absolutely no idea of the situation. Unless Tig or Stephen told you what happened I seriously believe you're going off of rumors. You have no reason to harass me as a staff member, maybe you should try to act like one.

I don't see any harassment though. I just talk normally with you. But Im sure everybody can agree here, that you are always starting to instigate stuff. I dont know why tbh, maybe you are just mad at something? You can always PM me if you want to talk and explain your situation.

Nico, Seeya.... This isn't the place for this discussion to take place. There is no need to spread rumor's, or talk negatively about your fellow peers. As much as I like to argue, new members who join this forum don't want to see this type of arguing.

I wouldn't say the economy died because of bad item stats but the stats were outrageous.. If that was true admins would just change the stat of the items to satisfy the ''economy'' and get them playing again which they did eventually ended up changing some Christmas items but never solved the player count problem. Though overflow of items totally agree. Anyway in my opinion it's simply that most people achieved most stuff they wanted like you said overflow of items and everything else they do becomes repetition and it just gets boring to only come on to idle. People certainly come on for holidays because it's that easy to get godly items now. Basically without holidays and big events the player count would be bad. Honestly GK really has no competitive quests meaningful monsters to kill or anything of that sort that will attract people to come play it I'm aware that you guys a working on a lot atm but I mean currently and I mean this is no harmful way I'm not educated enough to help the staff continue with their progress, but I still try and suggest ideas. Now I'll just sum-up what I was saying instead of describing the situations. There's currently nothing that will keep a constant rate of good player base though hopefully with the future updates circumstances will be good. I really do believe this server has great potential

I will agree that all the holidays starting from Christmas 2011 caused a ton of items to enter the game. Holidays should be about having fun events and not about gaining items. Having said that though there is still a huge issue with players not being capable of gaining equipment for their characters. Currently on GK the only option you have to get gear is through other players. Players are unable to earn gear for themselves.

Dungeons, instances, and maps are available to play on the server. The problem with this is there isn't a reward for doing any of these besides gaining levels. New players will join the server and start farming these areas and get nothing from it. They have no chance to get anywhere on the server unless the buy from players.

I personally would love to see changes to GK. I would like players to have a chance at earning gear. By that I mean not having to join Events to earn an Event Coin. I would like to see gear capable of being crafted and obtainable through these dungeons. I would like to see a quest system (a real one) added that gives players starter gear or items to craft the starter gear. This will give people a reason to play on GK instead of idling in the trade house.

As for the items being gained in the dungeons, maps, etc. I don't want items to dropped constantly but there should be at least some type of chance for players to earn items for themselves. It would give players something to work towards while they play the game. Some of you might not agree and some of you will. This is simply my opinion and something that I personally would like to see changed on the server. As DripZ said GK has great potential to be a good server but changes need to be made.

ignorant to say, Tashkin, we both know Christmas 2011 DID add items to the economy, and it DID add trading and tons of new gear-sets available because of intuitive stat's and limited availability through intensive scripting (thanks chris)

but when you re-use boxes for easter, halloween, and christmas again, you are EXTREMELY overflowing the economy with the same old items. Why not make INTUITIVE and new stats on items and start working on taking the overflow out of the economy, like the tigbot was planning on doing.. we need more ways to get **** out of the economy or begin trading again;

few ways:
get over the mystery box idea, Christmas 2011 didn't touch the economy-- it only helped it. Two weeks of allowing players to grind with 60+ online daily didn't hurt anything, the fact you released the same exact items for months at a time for every holiday since christmas 2011 is what the item overflow is for.

when you release a new set of items you need to think about what you're doing, con1 speed1 on a shield completely destroyed the shield economy; making every shield that isn't better than that worth 20 ec. you need to understand what you're doing when you make items...

there are a few priorities: fix boats and PVP, fix the economy, and host REGULAR WEEKLY EVENTS.

Each time a Holiday came around we had 60+ members online and new items were released each holiday. Christmas 2011 was just the beginning of the items flooding the market. More items were released during Christmas then any other holiday. So stating it is ignorant to say is invalid. The Christmas dungeon was never shut down until this Halloween which still allowed items to enter the economy. Sure at a slower pace but it never stopped.

Easter released more of the new Easter items then any other item. GK was given 8 new items during Easter. As for the stats on those items they were chosen by somebody else which were approved by management. So before you continue to spread your lies please get your facts in line.

As for your priorities events are not the answer. We have tried weekly events and it obviously did no good. Events are suppose to be something that breaks up the monotony of the actual game play but it has become the way to earn currency. The problem with GK is that events are the only way to actually earn. Fixing the boats would be nice but they still aren't a factor into what will fix GK. Lastly the economy has been messed up for years... Fixing it will not be easy. What most consider fixing an economy is their items being worth an ungodly amount which is not a fix.

GK needs to give players something worth doing not adding things that would have no use until GK actually has a player count again.
