Playerworld IP-Ranges: Now with e-mail approval

We have updated the ip-range system on all servers: when someone logins with RC to a server and the ip-range is wrong then an e-mail is sent to the owner of the account. By clicking on the link in the e-mail you can approve a new ip range which will automatically include the new ip and computer id. This should make server-management a little bit easier.

I changed my E-Mail about 4~ times and still have classic status (that is if you're talking about E-Mails linked to your account).

Maybe they fixed it, originally they said you'd lose it if you did.

Excellent, though perhaps there could be a way to determine whether it should be just one of PCID or IP being added to the IP range?

Well yeah but I don't think I'm listed as the owner of Zodiac, so I don't think I'll be getting the emails.

The email goes to the account owner, not the server owner. Basicly it takes away the work of the higher admins to fix the ip ranges of staff. May be for servers where the owner doesn't trust their staff that much we could make it approve-by-server owner?

Yes thats a great Idea. Playerworlds should have the option to make it "approve-by-serverowner"

Just wondering why because server owners could change it than by their own instead of opening the e-mail and approve it all.

Well they could also remove the other staff. The problem is more than you hire someone and then some hacker is overtaking his account by stealing the email account or so, and then deleting content on the server. Will try to add some option for approve-by-serverowner sometime. May be the first thing which we could add is sending an email to the owner when some staff has changed the ip-range.

I think that would be a better idea. There have been many instances over the years where a server owner goes on vacation or for whatever reason is gone for a month. The staff who intended to continue development get stuck when their ip range decides to change. If they have to wait for the owner to approve there is still time lost in developing.

We all know that this sort of thing only ever happens at THE most inconvenient time
