Making the client faster

It's so slow - i've updated my drivers and still no luck... Anyone got any suggestions other than making my graal program smaller?

I am and it's worse lol

Laptop v5 is slow for some reason and I cannot figure out why. It's not my laptop's performance because it's better than PC's that run v5 fine. It's related to Vista/7 + Laptops but I can't figure it out.

This is just a hunch but can you guys try running Graal in "Run as administrator" mode and Windows XP compatibility mode (try separately and together) and let me know if you still have the problem? A couple of people have been having a similar problem and, for some reason, one or other of these fixed it.

Skyld, that didn't work making it an administrator program... Although, Andrew came and fixed it for me though; he un-installed and re-installed to a new directory and now it's a lot better.

Could you explain to me how he did that? I have the same problem you had, it has been 3 years since I could play Graal lag-free. I hate laptops x.x

1. Delete your Graal folder.
2. Create New Graal folder.
3. Copy v6 Beta to said folder.
4. Run the new V6 Beta.

fowlplay4 can you explain your freezing problem a little bit more, are your problems fixed with the new v6? I don't want random exes posted on the forums if not really necessary.

It's the same story as everyone else, it's just random freezing or well at least on my screen its a temporary fps-drop then it's good again.

I have posted a video for you on the Windows V6 beta thread so you will be able to see it yourself. http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...257598&page=53 It also seems I am only getting an average framerate of about 14-15 FPS, but I don't know if that's related to this issue.

I have a problem with 5.3 being laggy with player movement and scipts. Both under admin and normal user..

PC Specs:
Win 7 64-Bit
4 GB DDR2 800mhz ram
nvidia 9800 GT sparkle (1gb)

latest drivers all partical, weather and light effects off.. this thing should be running like slicing butter.. but it's not.. props on the addition of external windows tho.. for some reason they dont seem nearly as responsive as the external windows from 5.1 tho

if you have external windows why arnt they running as fast? it appears almost as if theres a DXDraw (or similar) in them..? which is a bit funny in my mind.. =/

I also have to admit, last time I tried the v6 client, it had some very noticable speed issues. Will post specs when I get home if I remember to.
