Gang Gun removal

Effective immediately gang guns will no longer exist. If you have a gang gun, you will be refunded 35k for it when you log in.


There are many reasons for this decision, and I know I will probably take some heat for it, but I believe it is for the best. Until a system which removes gang guns from the economy is finished, gangs will no longer have their own special weapons.

EDIT: Players who recently purchased a gang gun within the last few days can contact Squirt for a full refund.

Gang guns should give the gang a theme, right now gang guns were just very good guns - overpowered. And I don't know which idiot made it so that every gang had only five or something, so only Recruiters had the gun >.<

they should just make it so that if you're on tag and grab something in the base, you currently hold your gangs 'gang gun.' Only 3 people can do that at a time, and when you sign off or go off tag, it's returned to the shelf. That way nobody owns it, but each gang can use up to 3 of them in their raids. They'd be themed to fit with each gang.

Yes, that's exactly why it was done.

The real reason is because of the insanely inefficient system that was being used needed to go. Sure, I could've untag-locked them, but look how well that's worked out in the past.

Basically there's 5 guns per gang, and the leader gets to choose who has them. Anytime the leader decided he didn't want someone to have a gun anymore (got in an argument, the person left, whatever) a staff member would have to manually remove the weapon from them, and give it to a new person chosen by the gang leader. With Daz not being very active lately, this was clearly causing some problems.

I'm sure there were alternatives, believe me, I considered them, but the best choice was to remove them completely.

The whole idea for the current system is stupid in my opinion. They shouldn't be items to begin with, you shouldn't pay money to receive them, and the leader shouldn't just give it to the top 3 pkers at any given time. I think there should be some sort of a gun rack system where the guns are free but limited, and then the highest ranked person currently on gets to decide which people get the guns at that time. They should also only be used on tag. The literal point of gang guns right now is to give the top PKers an even higher advantage because they have better guns, and the leaders can bank off it rather than basing things on loyalty to the gang.

Easier said than done, especially with the current gang and gun systems.

honestly why use gang weapons i want to c everybody true skills with out them. I'll be happy if you guys do something to lower the gun value down. like 3 mil for a gun no one even has a mil in cash and Katbot is the closest to get a mil in cash i think it should little bit easier then that
i still think every gun should be bought some how in a npc shop or a player shop so anybody can get it

I think that this was a great move. Bravo, Sales.

However, I don't think that gang guns should be limited, but rather plentiful. I think a gang gun should symbolize a players role in the gang, which is why I think that multiple gang guns should exist between each gang (I'm not talking about quantity, but rather different sets of guns).

It actually removes about 285k since the people paid 50k for them and are, for the most part, only getting 35k back (not to mention 19 super lame guns that don't exist anymore ).

Let's use Frankie's logic here for a minute. The gun's "value" is 50k, so that's 50k that was removed while only 35k was put back in. We could've done it his way though and untaglocked them making everyone who had one instantly rich.

the people who have gang guns and leave the gang are basically selling their gun to another member. I wouldn't call that a refund.

as far as the loss of 15k, you need to realize that you were able to get usage out of the gun. you paid 50k, you used it for how ever long you did, you're not going to get the full 50k back. that's just stupid.
