Ok, delete one of the few fun aspects left on Classic.

BRILLIANT.

If you really thought this through even a little you could solve the ticket aspect of CTF by

*GASP*

WAIT FOR IT...

NOT GIVING TICKETS OUT AT THE END OMG.

I can only stay active on a dead server for so long at a time. I always server hop.

p.s I just defended my tag belt yesterday.

Deleting ctf doesn't solve our problems, and we could fix them without deleting it.

Deleting ctf would also (as crono said) delete the only fun thing left on the server, though the 'fun level' has decreased over time with the decreasing quality of players.

@ crono's idea

We've discussed this idea in various forms. One idea was that any 1 ctf game would give tickets as normal, but any hosted soon afterwards wouldn't. Another idea was to have a "ctf token" instead of tickets for prizes, thus enabling GCs to host ctf madness without giving out 20 tickets easy. No decision has been made obviously, so keep tossing in ideas if you have any.

CTF hasn't been hosted in 188 hours, which is just over a week. I don't think the fad still exists as much as it did, but then again, neither does the playercount.

I wonder who is responsible for that.

CTF madness still exists but the token system isn't made yet so if ever we do it, it's ticket free

How about temporarily delete it so we can stop constantly going to CTF games that stop us from developing new material.

Staff don't have to go to them. If they're not doing CTF's, then they'll be doing something else to entertain themselves.

Which i why assignments fail. Dev would work better if it were organized chaos and you let people work on what they were motivated to do-- Like when I was dev I actually liked making ideas and concepts for the ice caves(Event though that was half assigned and I never really got around to doing anything with it), sky zone and to a lesser extent that other thing (I actually forget)... if you let the dev in charge of a project take control and make it their own it will turn out faster and better.

Ya, I much prefer the work layout of a list of projects and allowing developers to choose what they wish to work on at any given time rather than forcing them to work on one specific thing. It's a very quick way to get someone bored of working.

And thus we find the true flaw of classic: lack of organization in the dev team; not ctf.

Classic is dry atm that it took 2 weeks to pull off the tag team title defense. CTF isn't the problem right now. CTF isn't even hosted THAT much during the day. I used to host ctf once or twice with the accommodation of more other events.

CTF madness is meant for the people who play Classic a lot and their other events, and also who enjoy CTF in its entirety to have a bit of fun.

And it's not even CTF that would take away from dev time. ATM, it appears that most devs have become inactive. Also, I kind of like being told a specific direction to go in then have my work be free form. (As in, assign me to quest, I construct it).

gcs only host that, the last time i saw quality hosting was in 2005-2006

they were not trying to break a record of having 22 players in ctf.

Laura, as much as you may not want to believe it, the GC's do actually try to host good original events. The problem with it is that nobody joins and it turns out to be a crud event because events usually aren't great at low playercounts. This is primarily why you don't see good original events -- The GC's don't want to waste taking 10-15 minutes of their time setting up an event to only have 2 or 3 people join. Not that I'm saying we shouldn't host at low player participation or saying that's why we always host ctf, because we don't.

Also this might shock you, but all of Graal was better in 2005 making the quality of any server's events much better!

ya but if a gc team only aim for the highest number of players in events you know that ctf will be hosted, look at my event, glad was lucky to have 9-10 players playing it, and actually enjoy it.you dont see that everyday. except for sumo(sometime)

Why wouldn't we aim for the highest number of players to join an event?

Are we really supposed to host a 4 person event with a playercount of 20? (I'm not talking about getting 4 people for an event with 20 people online, im talking about hosting a 4 person only event with 20 people online.)

I've always felt that a GC should try to get as many people as possible involved to make it fun for everyone. Higher numbers brings better competition in my book.

Too much of anything is a bad thing. When CTF was overhosted before, the timer was put in place. Players complained of course but would be standing in line to play when the timer ran out. Before CTF it was sumo that was overhosted. Before that it was Pit.

Moderation and variety is the key to player happiness.
