inputting a chosen pin would be nice.

- swipe your card through the atm
- atm asks for pin number
- type it in, press enter
- bank menu comes up

Disagree. Staff should not be able to see people's pins. Remember it or lose your money.

Should have it encrypted to your player data and be able to unencrypt it through an automatic process by the player, if they need to recover it.

If its possible to unencrypt it "through an automatic process", then it is possible for a staff member to do so. If a PIN System were to be used, it would need to simply be for cosmetic purposes, meaning locked to an account anyways.

Automatic as in a bank teller or such. Basically an NPC the player can go to, and a script that will decrypt the PIN number for recovery. No need to go through any staff. I can't think of many other ways to do so because wherever they store the actual PIN number, some staff will be able to access it.

Sure, a staff could just take the encryption from the player and then use a script to decrypt it, but I highly doubt they're going to make individual cards for each player with a PIN number linked to it. So ya, it'd be pretty worthless to steal anyones PIN in that case.

I would say just have the bank NPCs tell people what their PIN numbers are, lol.

No need to give staff more logs to look through.

Oh, true, totally forgot the PIN would only be cosmetic..well, it could then be stored without any encryption, and if a player forgets his PIN, he can walk up to some nifty bank dude who will tell him his PIN for 50 bucks or something like this?

Oh, and...

Have it where if you enter the wrong pin in over an X amount of times you won't be able to use the ATM for a certain amount of time so that people won't try to enter random numbers in to get into someone's account.

The pin would only really be good for people that are on your account trying to get into your bank account,

the PIN wouldn't be good for anything. just for show. if someone forgets it, they pay to change it. it doesn't offer any protection for people that get on their account if they can just change it and get into it.

nobody will be able to access a different bank account that isn't theirs. bad idea.

maybe give players the option to secure a bank account with a real secure PIN that is encrypted. have a disclaimer that if they forget the PIN, they won't be able to access that account anymore.

There are always those personal questions things for recovering PINs. What's the name of your dog? Your mothers middle name? That kind of stuff.

Yeah I think Pin numbers should be used, just to add a touch of realism. bank accounts should be account locked and the pin numbers should be just a novelty.

-It would be nice if a really good GUI could be made for the ATM machine.

That's how people with access to your account (family/friends usually) can steal all your money stored in your bank account.

well youd be stupid to give your password to friend,if its family you can easily get revenge and getting hacked on graal is very hard since the password is a bunch of letters and numbers plus i dont know anyone who has already given their password out

Agreed, you should bring back pin numbers to player bank accounts. Maybe have them fabricate a question for forgotten pin numbers so that they can ask a staff preferably GP or something.
