The Heirs

*Please read The Warrior Heir, and if you want, The Wizard Heir first, two great books by Cinda Williams Chima*

Only the medicine he has to take daily and the thick scar above his heart set him apart from the other highschoolers. Then one day Jack skips his medicine. Suddenly, he is stronger, fiercer, and more confident than ever before. And it feels great - until he loses control of his own strength and nearly kills another player during soccer team tryouts.
Soon, Jack learns the startling truth about himself: he is Weirlind, part of an underground society of magical people who live among us. At their helm sits the feuding houses of the Red Rose and the White Rose, whose power is determined by playing the Game - a magical tournament in which each house sponsors a warrior to fight to the death. The winning house rules the Weir.
As if bizarre heritage isn't enough, Jack finds out that he's not just another member of Weirlind - he's one of the last of the warriors - at a time when both houses are scouting for a player.

Yes, all my ideas are based on the book(s). Read them for a better understanding.

This will basically be based on The Warrior Heir and less of The Wizard Heir, after the messed-up tournament.
There will be 5 guilds (just like in the books), being Wizard, Sorcerer, Enchanter, Warrior, and Soothsayers (these will only be some of the NPCs).
You don't choose your stone, and you don't get "rolls" like most RPG games. Instead, it's random every time, and your stats also depend on your stone.
All guilds will have their own set of attacks, defenses, charms, etc. that can be used by only that guild.
This game will be modern, but will be mostly set in remote places, like how Trinity was.
Quests/storyline will depend on your guild. Eventually you can join/create (creating is not recommended and will cost money and much player-worked time) a House. There are 3 pre-made ones that are recommended to join: the White Rose, the Red Rose, and the Silver Dragon.

There currently isn't a "starting" story that I made up, but after reading the book(s) you can help me create one.

There's also no exmaples/work done because I just felt like making a server concept. If anyone decides to make this/springboard off of this, please let me know first.

Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.

I never said you had to.
But it's a good book anyway.

As far as creative writing/storytelling goes... I guess everyone who's interested has to start somewheres... but piggybacking off another author is better left for the harry potter fanfiction sites.

harry potter is for squares.
And no it's not gonna be the book it's gonna be what happens after the book, not including The Wizard Heir parts.

I didn't say it was the book - I said you were piggybacking off of another author.

Maybe storytelling, or English in general, isn't your thing?

Right, I haven't questioned the quality of the book. What I was saying is that piggybacking off of another author is not only scruples - it's lame.

Right, but I wasn't making any predictions - I'm suggesting that using the characters previously built up by the original author in your own work is not really very creative and ethically defunct.

Oh haha, no.
Only the story might have them, but you never see any NPCs and stuff with them. Unless if there are any, like events.

But if he blatantly ripped it off from another source, wouldn't it fit the rest of Graal better?

No, but arm chair criticism does certainly seem to be a new trend.

What do you mean? I actively develop a playerworld. I know how hard it is to create unique things.
