npc-server crash's

You know I always wondered since sometimes when I dev, My NPC-Server crashes or I can disconnect but my gserver is still online. Does this mean the GServer is a seperate client like the graal5 client but for parsing scripts, or is it part of the GServer core itself but only activates when told to do so. I'm just curious cause I've been playing graal for quite some time and this question has always bugged me.

Gserver and NPC-Server are two seperate pieces of software ran off of the graal server.
