I almost always mentor people in GS2 if they personally contact me. Drop me a line on one of my contacts in my signature and I'm sure I could give you a large amount of time to help you.

It depends what you want.

If you want access to RC on a server and use it to learn to script but have someone there to tell you where you're going wrong then PM me. I don't have time to go through and teach you GS2 from scratch though i'm afraid.

You don't really need anyone.
As long as you know the functions that exist, you use your imagination.
Just make sure that you're aware of what a var, float, string and array is and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I learned by thinking of a script to build then I found out all the stuff i'd need to do it

Learning from someone else is always faster. You guys can't really say otherwise since you never enjoyed the luxury (neither did I) but I have seen first hand of people learning GS2 extremely fast when they were mentored it.

I learned C++ in one day, doesn't mean I know how to apply it, since I know jack **** about the libraries and whats in them.

Not really, I picked up GS2 fairly quickly, but then again, I was already comfortable with GS1 so it wasn't much to learn. As long as you're aware about how to deal with object oriented programming you should be fine. I have no outside training on programming, so you don't need it to learn GScript (though it can never hurt).

Pretty much the same case with me, I picked it up over time though. Took me about a month before I was scripting in all GS2, a year when I actually understood it all.

I started with a complete knowledge of GS1 (except clientside/serverside, picked that up fast), and a knowledge of Java, and C++.

I'm looking for a Mentor too

I already know GS2 but there are some things that are still freaking me out:

Movement(fixed speed is easy, but i hate variable speed)
Particle System(its sometimes annoying as hell )
Mudlibs(+Inventory System and Stuff, I dont have a Problem with making inventories based on player's items or clientr./client. strings, but creating a mudblib+inventory, dunno never made it and I dont know how it works, etc)

Please post here if you wanna help me

P.S.: RC Access would be nice, I dont have it now

I can give temporary RC's to people if you are serious about wanting to learn. I've also set up a machine with Ubuntu/apache/php/mysql so I'll be able to work on my GS2 site (for once ).
