Firstly lets divide the pet types. You have the ridable pets and the idol pet. Now for the ridable section as I have mentioned you should get dragons, gained with use of dragon pearl deposited at the angel alter. You also have the unicorn which is gained by breeding horses repeatedly and you also have the gryphons. These are winged ridable bird creatures which are common in fantasy rpg such as world of warcraft and other previous games and even in Harry Potter. Now we move onto the idol pets, however you may notice in this section the pets do have certain specialties.
Monkeys can climb trees for example.
Now ravelyn would love this pet, Its a bat. These pets hover around your character and make a complete asset to any black clothing you are wearing. Use it for rp purposes or just general fun.
For you more lively characters and you pirates out there why not some hawks, eagles and even parrots? These animals are very unique. They are very active and will every now and then when free, fly around the map and explore and return and depart from the place you left them in a set time. They also deliver letters if you drag and drop on onto them. Once you trade a letter a trade menu will appear except it will have a list of account names of players to send this item to. The hawk will fly straight there and the trade screen will appear for that character when your bird arrives. Its great for Rp purposes or even couriering and the bird can make the delivery in and out of buildings and if you are inside your home then the letter will enter the post box of that house.
Quest For Companions
Now not every pet was nessasarily driven into the caves from the bomys. Some creatures are too proud to interfere with humans such as the gryphon. a quest to 'steal' the egg is then born. Say you wanted a gryphon egg. Steal it from the mother gryphon by sailing to a 'new' island. There is an island for each new pet and you must battle your way to the nest. The nest is in different places depending on creature. Once you battle your way through to the nest you must then kill the mother pet which is a boss. The mother drops the egg on death and will respawn later. The boss will not give much exp but may drop additional diamonds or maybe even items such as swords, armours ect but however it is completely random when it may drop items considered to be valuable. It may take several hours or maybe even days for an item players value to appear. For creatures that could not defend themselves from a sword such as a bat additional bosses will be placed. Such things as a boss skeleton or a giant bat for instance. I hope I made this clear. Please feel free to ask any questions if you did not understand a thing lol.
