Millenium - PlayerWorld

I'm making, or should I say 'reviving' a playerworld called Millenium (Currently named Playerworld63, feel free to stop by)

It's a modern style playerworld which was created 3 years ago, just after Graal went P2P (When it stopped being free).

I'll post some screenshots, just keep in mind it's an old server and needs some fixing. Like scripts need to be re-done in GS2, image graphics need upgraded, some more levels need fixed / made.

So far it has 5 staff (including me and helpers). 1 Developer, 1 LAT, and 2 people helping out - so it is hiring if you're interested.

Feedback appreciated
Suggestions appreciated

Screenshots -

Regards,
Omini

o.o I can't see the first attachment (My computer sucks like that) but I can see the second one. As soon as I get a GAT, I'll get him to make a new street light. I think Zool (the person who made it) used Tritan's light to test the things, but didn't get around to changing it to Millenium's street lights, because I found this in my folder

Anyways, I like the server... Im not much diggin the tileset and the redone era graphics i see on there but i think it can be good if ya work it right.

Also I noticed you where trying to make your downtown look like ghetto-ish and old with the broken windows and such.. but uh, right next to the FBI and MPD I dont think there would be much vandalism goin on.

Also some of the street names are pretty corny.. like Demon road and Dontgothis Way

And the glass sucks.. the windows i mean. They have no boarders and they all look the same dull 2 shades, maybe make thin boarders (Darker than the ones already up) on as seperate webgifs and shade them differently so they dont all look the same, that way they seem more realistic and the building dont look like a glass square. Maybe try to darken them aswell, i think it would go better with the scummy style that the downtown area seems to give my head.

Heh heh, I named the roads when I was 14 and *****ic, now that I'm 17 and *****ic, I'm gonna rename them over time - to real ones.

With the vandalism and such, we like to pretend the MPD and FBI suck But I'll change it over time to fixed up windows and such. Thanks for your suggestions.

Edit:
After logging on to Era and comparing lamp posts, I'm just gonna try and get a GAT to make new ones.

Well I have plans for things (but I need NATs and GATs) but I'd rather not tell the public, so I can maintain it's uniqueness and not have my ideas stolen. But I do have a few ideas that havn't been thought of before (that I know of).

Good luck. Don't fall for the gang trick. Bravo Evolved or whatever did it and they failed.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. I'll see if I can come up with a more unique gang system, like a gang system but nothing like it - more like based on it.

I don't see any similarity in the sidewalks.

I still think somebody should try the idea where they build a pseudo-future world where you buy parts and you can build machines. Buying wheels would make it so your machine could drive, for example. You could buy legs, etc.

*sigh*

Sounds like some pretty intense scripting, but fun.

Yeah, I was working on something similar just before (or was it just after?) I became staff the first time on Sanstrata.

Each part, I suppose, would have certain variables (well, constants really) assigned, and when that part becomes a part of the collaboration that is your machine, it's own variables are altered by the sum of variables from the parts. Like, one machine may have the following parts and variables:

Body (mass: 10, strength: 10)
Wheel (mass: 2, wheelspeed: 1, wheels: 1) x 4
Roof (mass: 2, strength: -2)

with algorithms, say, like this:

if (strength<0) {machinefallsapart();} // Body isn't strong enough to hold up sum of pieces
if (wheels>=3) {candrive==true;} // Can drive if you have at least 3 wheels

So you'd have a machine with these variables:

mass: 20
strength: 8
wheel speed: 4
wheels: 4
candrive: true

Of course, this is simplified. You may need an engine and other parts to have candrive enabled. As well, there'd be different kinds of wheels (better ones, worse ones, different ones, etc) and other parts, etc. Also, being able to add parts but have them switchable (turn on or off) would be interesting, in making transformers (robots that can turn into vehicles).

All just concept stuff.

Man, it'd be so fun trying to make in GS2. Too bad I quit just as I started really getting into it. Maybe I'll go back into C++ programming.

For anyone interested, here's a map of the current overworld. Changes may be made, and they probably will be made. This is it for now if you're interested.

A new overworld is in development, with a more some-what idea plan. The original overworld was 98 levels (and in my opinion, too small to work with (no sick comments please)). The new overworld however, is 400 levels. Here's the most recent map picture (see attachment)

It has a sort of 'district zone' feel to it, so far with only the top left island like thing and the one below it accessable to players without boots/without being warped, top left is the sort of urban/business district, and the bit below is residential district - of course there will be more 'districts' of each kind scattered around the map.

Reason to why those 2 districts are the only ones accessable is because they're pretty much the only areas that are worth seeings (others only have small structures that arent exactly worth looking at, apart from the island in the middle - but it's still off limits)

Unique never seen before (to my knowledge) Buy system (and other systems still to be announced)

Some of you might be curious about who is helping and working on this server, so here is a list {Nickname [Acct] (Position, department work capabilities)}

Not only does it look similar to tritans but it looks identical to a playerworld that use to be in progress called Mission City.So yea i think New street lights should be generated.
