Besides being a smart guy and posting frequently, he did not really do much for the community in the recent time before his departure that really warrents keeping his name around.

There is nothing wrong with some inspired friends keeping his name alive. Just because someone doesn't do something drastic or exceedingly important, doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't be remembered. Kai will be back one day. Just watch.
