Reasonable damage leads to duels that last longer than when 1 hit has got through. Etc.
The early days were the best. Recreate them. A second chance at getting Kingdoms to work, providing you get some good players to staff it - like zell, Satrek, Zurkiba and others (if I haven't mentioned you and you think you should be in the list, mentally add yourself to it, and be proud of yourself for getting into it).

For what it's still worth, I agree that the basic system of GK is flawed, and not thought through - patched, so to speak. Funny how saying the same thing 3 times over can make it sound more important. I'm in a typing frenzy, don't mind me... no, please do. The point is that the system is cobbeled together with parts from CF, Stefan's own writing and the works of others.
Kingdom should be redone from the bottom up, using known ideas and spells/prayers, even parts of the system, but balanced as they are, for gk's own purpose, and fit into a neat system that encourages rp (yes, that's a lot to ask) or at least discourages powergaming (that is quite possible).

I've come to wonder this, and some would most likely agree, do you simply have no capacity for any form of abstract thought? Gods aren't one dimensional, and obviously aren't restricted to the cliche attacktype arches. Balor is the Demon Lord, and is from, given his aura OF FLAMES, an area of the Underworld most likely firey in nature.


Govanon is a forge god. He uses fire to smelt iron and other metals. Thusly, He protects his followers from Fire with his blessings, his relic, etc. Sometimes the story isn't wrapped up nicely in a neat little cliche package. Sometimes, despite the internet's best attempts to the contrary, you hae to do some thinking for yourself.

I, for one, think using u, ur and such to make yourself sound ****yer or whatever has never been a good idea.

As far as Balor's concerned, the way I see it he's the counterweight to DianCecht, with all that Angels vs. Demons and so on. Given that, I'd say his residing in hell makes it obvious that he has a certain liking for fire. His spells just add to it. Of course, the whole thing can be interpreted in different ways, andthis is just mine. I agree with Gryffon, though.

Moonite, you're contradicting yourself - you say Balor's god of fear because he gives fear as attacktype - on the other hand you mock the same argument by saying something to the effect 'how stupid would it be if for example Brigid was defined by the resistances she gave'. In additions, adhering to the rules isn't being a 'mama-boy' (which to my last check still features the famous y instead of an i), it's rather a sign of a working brain and the ability to wield it without hurting yourself.

I RP as Balor's father on GK, (Well, I did untill recently). Either way this is about Balor.

Flaming Aura: This is a fire based spell, only fire no other addons.

Vitrol: Only an Acid type of attack, there was more but it was nerfed.

Balor add's fear to each weapon once it is +'d. I think it also add's weapon magic, not to sure on that though. Balor has resistance to Magic +30 instead of fire as some people think.

Balor isn't a fire god, or a Magic god. Balor is a god with all-mighty power if used correctly.
