Potential BIG problem: destroy serverside
|
The destroy; command, used on the serverside, has some interesting results.
* On a weapon in the NC, it destroys the weapon's serverside half, leaving only clientside commands and an undeletable, uneditable shell in the lists.
* Used in a database NPC, the database NPC will be completely obliterated.
This could cause a whole lot of problems. Example: A script is written to sort through all the NPCs in a level using with (npcs), to clear all NPCs that might survive an update level command, then sends to the RC /updatelevel #F. The weapon would destroy itself.
Or say some well-meaning staffer adds destroy; to the Control-NPC, assuming that it'll destroy a NPC selected with with. Imagine what that could cause. This may well work fine, as obviously I haven't tested it. I don't want to. :T
Shouldn't this 'feature' be removed or, at best, updated so that destroy; doesn't have such automatically disastrous effects on the serverside? |
