I have a tiny idea, to fix the mic. In g2k2, when the NPC server was down, I was stuck in the black abyss of doom. Sombody was being a complete ***** and putting in random noice on his mike. I had to turn my music off. There were many people in there, all on one spot. This brings me to my point...
If you right-click the speaker balloon, you should be able to mute them.
