Layers and Tiles

I am not a great scripter so I am asking this as a question for someone who is good.

Is there anyway to make tiles appear and disappear? Like say for a bridge like it shows the whole bridge then it starts from one end and starts disappearing till the whole bridge is gone?

I figured you could do that with layers or somthing but im not sure. Can anyone help??
