Tiles Drawn Above the Player

I think it'd be rather useful to have the availability of nonblocking tiles that are drawn above the player, instead of underneath. This would have many useful purposes such as tree leaves, doorways, etc. It would eliminate many NPC's that are used to do this.

Comments/opinions?
