Ah, those wonderful ships

I love ships, but they have two major problems that I've found so far...

First, I'd like to see the ships maintain their speed when you change direction. Right now, they drop to a dead stop when you change direction, making it extremely time-consuming to do things like exploring jagged coastlines where you have to steer a lot.

Second, when the captain leaves the wheel, why does the ship stop? I understand you don't want it going full speed when no one is steering, but why not let it coast along at, say, 25% of what your speed was before you left the wheel?

Just a couple of small, easily-done suggestions. Thanks and bless y'all.

I think Sid Meier's Pirates Gold had a great navigation system...wind, eight directions, two speeds...something like that would be nice, even better if they made a 360 degree system, you could probably make it look right with 16-20 sprites.
