It isnt that hard. This just happens to be my first and only one. It's just time consuming finding images that will fit together, and then peicing them all together.

But the steps I took was:

I came up with an idea.
I searched for images.
I took the entire beach image and placed it on top of the stair image.
I resized the beach image to fit with where I wanted it.
I cut down the beach image to fit with floor space.
Removed some more of the image so that the furniture would go over the beach.
Used the smudge tool to soften up the outline.
Resized the boat image.
Cut it out.
Placed it.
Copied the layer and then flipped it.
Made it transparant and but it under the boat image to create a "reflection."

You should really do more of these, and create a portfolio. Your obviously really good at this, and i found it really interesting to look at which is exactly what you want for a poster, picture or whatever it is you want it to be

You could still do it with just the image. Select the door and paste it onto a distortion layer which uses the water as a alpha layer.

Honestly I have no clue at what you just said.

I'm familiar with some things on photoshop, but definately a majority of the program is still foreign to me.

Ohh thats an idea, make some things colour, like the water and door. Then leave the rest black and white.

Or is that what Zero just said? heh

No, I told him to take the water and copy it to a new layer - then convert that layer to a distortion layer, and to then copy the door and place it over the water, set a mask to gradient down the side of it, and then place it with the distortion layer so that it has a reflection fo the door in the water.

I editted your montage by adding the reflection. I didn't use a displacement (confused displacement for distortion in previous posts) like I said I would, but I found it didn't work well on this file. Perhaps this is because of the size?

Anyways, I'm not satisfied with how my edit came out, but I'm sure it'll help give you an idea of what I mean... However, I cannot upload it - says it's not a valid file type... weird, so I uploaded it to my webpage.

Oh I see what you mean now...
I dunno it just seems like maybe it would look better if it was done for all of the furniture?
