A new Leader, a new Name, a new Constitution.

Friends, Zyrians, Countrymen.

I have ascended to the throne of Zormite, and will be making a series of changes for the better. The well known and loved Fitzwilliam Vimes will sit on the side of the throne as Consul, while I bring Zormite to an era of unfounded prosperity.

In the coming months, I will expect diligence, strength, and honor. I will accept no less.

Furthermore, a new constitution for the Republic of Zormite has been founded. Those of you that are interested may read it here (PDF alert: for OS compatibility, and it's a bit long) Furthermore, it is required reading for Zormite Members.

I look forward to working with, and amongst you all.

Wait, you put a clause in the Constitution about executing player characters?
Dosen't that kind of break one of the founding principles of Role Playing, namely the one against powerplaying. Not even a king should be able to break the consent rule.

It is a republic. So we were thinking republic. And then the Zormite blade and workers came to mind, so we made this. We also have our kingdom tag as (Zormite Republic) due to conversation over this. And yes, I, and the consul feel it's a positive choice

You still haven't explained the flag.

First off, a Republic != Communism, despite what China would like people to believe.

Secondly, why the color red?

Thirdly, what do the stars represent?

It is my opinion that the history of Zormite on Graal Kingdoms 2002 is too chaotic to apply to any previous taditions.

I was hoping to apply some of previous stuff from Zormite on GK2K2... but it's all "Well Hey - look. I realize you want fish people. I respect that... but I want to be a republic so yea, go to Hell. What I will never understand is why all of you always want to bring back old traditions and things from the past.
Let's look forward to a new and hopefully a better future. Give the new leaders a chance to improve their kingdoms. And give them space to do it in a new direction.
Help is what Matthew needs, support him and give him a chance!

The leaders of nearly all kingdoms come and go the last months, maybe one reason is that all what they hear is blaming.
Think about that and work together, not against each other!

If you turn it around it's a Budhist symbol for peace.

But traditions are what societies are based on. When any new leader takes their position in the real world, the country doesn't suddenly change automatically to their whims. I would think that if the people of the kingdom had any sort of pride at all, they would resist such changes to their traditional colors and other such things.

I have no real problem with it becoming a republic, but you can't simply throw everything away and say "Hey guys, this is how it's going to be now, because I said so." That, my dear friends, is a dictatorship.

The flag is immaterial. It represents both the history of Zormite in the blade, the hard work that we must endure to bring it to it's glory in the hammer, and the three heads that bring the wrath of Zormite to its enemies, the Pater, Terrangus, and Zormitus are shown in the stars. Furthermore, the color red is representative of passion and vigor. I envision a Zormite where people look forward with eagerness, and anticipation, not to the past with child-like nostalgia and woe. We will be strong once again.

I am curious as to why you're wanting to go with red, especially since it's one of the colors of two other kingdoms. I'm sure you can blather on about how red's the color of blood, battle, etc. but why choose one that's the same as two other kingdoms?

Zormite has always been the blue kingdom though. Just because in our world, OOC, we make the connection of red->battle, dosen't make it ubiquitous to fictional worlds. Why can't blue symbolize battle, just as a tsunami will devestate entire countries or (in my case) a hurricane will send water to simply erradicate towns?

You know, it's a good thing the Orb never made it to 2k2. It would have gone Sphere of the Republic->Drow Spider Egg->Crimson Orb of Communism with the way all these retroactive Zormite re-writes have been going.

Zormite's had a chance to redeem itself. Don't screw it up.

I don't see why so many on 2k2 are wanting to push for something new and 'exciting' when the original kingdom ideas are just as interesting.
