On this page

Use the second map.
The first is too cluttered; not enough water.
The third is way too big to use up. I don't think any server would ever use that many levels.

I picked the first, because I think its the only half-decent one.

some more info:

the first map is around 100 levels

second map around 300

third map is 1600 levels

-- how about taking the layout of any of those maps and scaling them up/down?

The third has the most potential. I could see a wide and vast world there. Kinda reminds me of Damasca before they took it down. Of course you newbies won't have any idea what I'm talking about.

>_> They had one overworld that was a total rip off of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

I loved that overworld. ._.

The third map is too big...meaning that 60% of the map people won't even bother going to. They will just stick to one spot like Unholy Nation's TownCenter. I like the second map best, though I don't like the smaller islands inbetween rivers.

Things like that can easily be prevented with well placed jobs, towns, activities, etc. Not all servers are UN.

thanks for the feedback,
I have tried making a new map that looks more natural.

But in the layering, I find errors such as the attached image
of trees overlapping into the mountain cliffs happens kind of a lot.
Any tips on getting around this type of levelgen error?

1st, the second one is kind of stupid. The islands look bad.

None of them look all that natural... And I don't see any layering at all. I pick 'other'.

Just use the first one, I say that because there's less ugly then the others.

You need to do some more rounded cliffing in it. I assume that they wont be the permanent cliffing, but still it's good to have a good outline at the start. I find it very hard to work off of stuff like that because theres more editing involved.
