Lightbulb Level FAQ/Tutorial Project.

I am going to be making a very nice Level Makers FAQ.
It will include everything I can think of that has to do with level making. Even how to add your own tiles , how to use gmaps , etc.
It will also include pictures and examples for everything.

I would like a list of things you feel need extra attention...

I notice people have problems with Cliffs, even I have some trouble finding all the right tiles sometimes.

Oh, mabey go over making a proper map, generating levels correctly, and some different styles of inside levels. I'd make some tutorials and guides, but I am working on something special right now.

Alright. I'll try to find a way to explain cliff tiles better. And where to find them.

Also I want to stress how proportions are important. I'm sick of seeing this small outsides then a 20 level inside :/

Also try to make your outside match your inside.
I'll make an outline for the project sometime tommorow. SO you can look it over and try to find some points i need to make better.

Sure thing, I am supposed to be added back to G2k1 soon, so we can chat there about it some time.

I hate the oversized insides. Not only do you need to scale down the house but also lay it out according to how it was made outside.

A house with an extension on the right cannot just be a square room.

A good tutorial on cliffs would be a good idea. Theres a few sets for different purposes, like water cliffs, desert cliffs, and mountain cliffs. Each have a few different unique things.

I think the main tileset needs to be redone by some good artists.

Yeah. I really agree about the cliffs...they are so complicated sometimes, at least if you want to make interesting ones..someone needs to make a tutorial with the tutorial levels, and have separate pics1 edits pointing out different tiles..and the levels should have different cliffs you would make, how to connect ones at different heights, etc.

Something really complete..that's what I want for Christmas ...lol jk. But make one. :O

I think that the tileset is fine for a basic level. It creates the urge to make a better one. What I think needs to be done is to have it made in sections. You know we got outside, then inside, then snow and outside and its all mumbled together. It needs to be expanded and split into coulums, for each type of style. From there split into two rows. Top half, non walking; bottom, walking. I think that the tilesets should be made complete. I mean what the heck, the lava and desert tiles aren't even complete. If we just could expand it 10 or 20 tiles or so, then we would have more room to do what we want! If it was split up to how I said, then it would be so much easier to customize also. You could just start with a new pics1.png, split it up into columns and move graphics to where it should be, walking or non.
