Can someone help me with how to make a map?

1. You first need to make a copy of your bigmap.txt and save it somewhere.
2. Now edit the bigmap.txt to include only your levels in it, in the proper order.
3. Open graal, and go into the editor. Press M, and it should generate a map based upon the bigmap.txt. Then save it as whatever you want.
4. This map is a 24bit PNG, which graal cannot read. You need to change it to a gif using a good graphics editor.
5. Finally, use the gif2mng program to convert the gif to an 8bit PNG. Your map should be done.

thanks but when i do that all i get is a black png

Why not just change it to 8bit instead of doing it the long way?

Make sure you have the levels that you put in bigmap.txt

i remember geovanie having a good tutorial for this, and y r u converting it 2ce ? just do what he said and do it once, saves confusion

go to this url and download the program, rest assured it is virus free but you can scan if you want.

to use just change the text boxes to what the labels on the side say they are (haven't played around with it much but I'll try and post more specific directions later)

Map image is the name of the map that will be output
Output folder is where the map will be put
Files start with is pretty self explanitory. Enjoy

btw you still need to make the bigmap.txt, this program doesn't make one (as far as I know)

I have all the levels, but it just makes a black PNG.

Actually, I have had the level generator since it was released (I think?).

If you're checking the PNG in Graal and it doesn't show up it's probably because it has more then 256 colors (8 bits), Graal doesn't accept images with mroe then that amout of colors so you'll need to decrease the color depth.

I find it easier to use an older graal version (copy the pics1.png to it) to make the map. Graal 2.0 is a pain the arse to make maps with.
