seteffect problems

me and my friend comps are having problem with the seteffects and setcoloreffects, the screen will looks like a mesh( you know that mosquito thing) with the selected colour... why does this happen, while in my OZ comp. (in my OZ house) this doesn't occur and it works fine, so here i can't play in 2k1 coz of great lag caused by that and is there anyway to fix this thing coz my friend comp also have this problem...

I've gotten that before, when 've had open lots of stuff including graal and then opened graal up again. The only thing I think it could be is a lack of resources... not enough to crash it and not let you open it, but just enough to do that.

the thing is I don't have any other programs running
and it still does that

If the problem is what you've said is there anyway to fix it???
is it RAM problem or hardisk space???

hmm, have you tryed selecting dont use direct x 7 on the options menu, this disables alot of the lighting effects and it stopped the lag trouble i was getting on G2K1
