pretty lame way to get a high tier item removed from the economy + take over a nation with history

It's incredibly stupid. How can you just sell off an entire Kingdom to the highest bidder? That's not solving the problem one bit. You should let the current members of said Kingdom elect a new leader if anything.

or, you know, roleplay it out since GK has a roleplaying aspect to it...

Not like I'd have anything against that, but roleplaying on GK hasn't really been seen for a year or so (properly and in a serverwide scale).

It's interesting that you're posting this, considering neither of you log on GK much at all. However, I'll entertain you for a second.

There is only 2-3 active members of the kingdom and they're all basically the lowest rank. None of them have been active in the kingdom for more than a month. Letting those 2-3 remotely active people vote for a new leader doesn't solve anything anymore than this does.

I'm working towards the activity, been a couple weeks now. Seems me and one other are the only two 'ever' on tag. I forget his name though...

And not trying to say "this bid thing is unfair! blahblah", but I have been talking to Nullify about handing down the leader spot to me so I can rebuild the kingdom. Seeing as I never really had a chance to rule it once I got it, for reasons not to be mentioned here. And he agreed to the plan, once he saw some activity once again from me. Which he has seen. As well as the other PM players.

how does any of this detract what i've said in any way?

the former doesn't either, i'd rather see some kind of serverwide kingdom RP be held than some cheap way to remove top grade items from the economy

if this cant be pulled off then gk must have a lot more issues than i thought

You're both right, I don't play GK and I haven't logged on for months. I used to play GK quite a bit though, and despite all it's flaws it's the most playable server out there at the moment in my opinion. I guess being a former player doesn't hold any value in your eyes, but I know quite a lot about the server.

Being a former player is great and all, but when you come and weigh-in on our current events, people expect you to be updated on them at the very least.

All I said was that I find the method stupid, there's gotta be a better way to go about it - like Crono's idea. I mean, he's right - you're just treating it like a big money sink, or at least that's what it looks like.

EDIT: And if this wasn't stopping me, who knows, I might log on more frequently together with all the other 64-bit Windows 7 users having the same problem.

Does this not include the guy bidding 8ish high-scale items for the kingdom, with his 77 hours of gameplay. Maybe he has another account? Maybe he bought the items with another form of currency? Idk. Its shady.

Yea, I agree with Ziro on current members. Kind of wrong to 'sell' a kingdom to anybody with any amount of hours and any amount of experience who probably USD'd to get the items in the first place.

And Ziro's and Crono's ideas can be combined. RolePlay an election within the kingdom of current members? **** idk.

Oh great i can discuss this now.

Why this is a bad idea:

- It doesn't solve the root problem and cause of this whole controversial thing. There is absolutely no guarantee that the new King will ever attract the members needed to avoid this sort of problem. The other Kingdoms are fairly sturdy and from what i know of my current Kingdom, no one is likely to flock to an unstable, disgraced (that is what this is doing) Kingdom.

- It leaves a wide stain on a proud Kingdoms history. Forests temporary removal wasn't that damaging at all, anyone with sense would know why it had to go, and anyone with sense now would know that Dustari might also need to go.

- Past, present and current members of Dustari are clearly not in favor of this. This ignores the wishes of the Kingdom completely, how can that be ignored?

Why this is a good idea:

- Potentially, more items would be redistributed into the economy, providing that offers are legitimate.

- It's arguably better than doing nothing

In all seriousness on the topic discussion now...

I personally think the idea is flawed. The only purpose you're giving us in every defense is that the previous leader failed and a new one is needed. But you're not considering the problems that go along with putting up a new leader, especially when that can be just any random person given the whole 'buying a kingdom' scheme.

Majin's pro/con spread is pretty on point so I won't go throwing my own versions of it since it won't prove anything. I'd just like to point out the large amount of controversy and biased that can be applied when doing this with items. Being that no real value is established for any of the items on GK other than the supply and demand system that currently runs its economy. And if it really comes down to the wire it's basically just the staff decision anyway.

I at least hope these items will be given out in some planned skill events rather than raffle and musical chairs however, the economy is broken enough as it is.

It seems like the server isn't active enough to have the current kingdoms. Why not try disabling it until the playercount rises or someone who will be able to actively participate in kingdom events is available. It would possibly make the other kingdoms a bit more active.

I personaly don't really support this idea - view this as some future RP on the server, the leading bid comes from someone who is obviously offering ALL his items. What if a war is launched? "Oh hey, can you wait some weeks before I get an actual gear to fight with?"
- on a server view, redistributing the items is a great idea, but how are you going to attract new players with that? And who isn't part of a kingdom already?

This will simply end up with a guy leading Dustari and 1-2 members hardly active IMO. I just hope you have something else in mind to follow up with that Tig.

Is this the last enjoyment you can squeeze out of the server?

You guys may both have valid points arguing your side, but in the end no matter what happens regarding this topic, the server will not have a sudden rebirth in player count.

Doesn't seem very enjoyable. Back in my day when the staff wanted to remove a critic from a kingdom leadership position it would at least result in a major RP event.
