Storyline and Narratives

From what I remember on Zodiac there has never been a solid foundation for the gameplay and the storyline was limited to various unrelated pieces of information created only to serve individual purposes. With this new Zodiac I'm sure I've seen it mentioned somewhere that a strong storyline is being introduced, but I can't seem to find where this was mentioned to respond to it. I'm just interested to know what you have in store in terms of future storylines and how you are going to introduce features through it, such as episodic content.

Many of the lore from Zodiac is currently planned by puppin and stored in text files, however at this time I don't think I will be able to deliver a satisfying post about the matter as we are still trying to plan out the new systems and get ourselves to an alpha stage in development before dropping lore into the mix.

But what I can assure you is that we will populate the cities, towns, and so on with NPCs and Quests to help tell the story of Zodiac, and attempt to incorporate it into the dungeons as well.

Also we definitely won't be including the real life Zodiac signs in the story..

I will update the forums when I can piece together more solid info on the matter.

This is what I mainly wanted to know. I've always thought it was pretty pretentious to call the server "Zodiac" for the 'mystique' factor, yet having no link to any of the connotations that are associated with astronomy or astrology. I think that the mythology behind the Zodiac provides a lot of different ways that the server could convey its content through, which wouldn't necessarily mean implementing a doctrine of generic star signs as a story. I'm not really sure why you're against that; I think it would be way easier to feature plots and much more related to the server's name, while retaining the server history that already exists.

It's more so against using the real sign names, but from what i've heard from puppin the Zodiac's are gods in the overworld, who oversee the world.

If our development force is strong enough we hope some day the players will get to fight these gods.

I can confirm..

There's three tiers to Zodiac, the overworld, midworld ( Current overworld ), and the underworld. I'll continue to update as it becomes available.
