Shaders?

I was pondering about this for a while now. Will Graal ever support shaders? If you ever played Half-Life 2, you would have seen the little neat shader used with a sprite when a strider fires the cannon. It bends the render in and looks as if it's sucking in everything around it. I always wanted to achieve something like that in Graal. So would that be a possibility in the future?

I've never seen it, but couldn't it be done with gfx, ganis, or particle effects?

Shaders have more usage than screen distortion, they can also be used for lighting effects to show up better, but most images with the proper work on transparencies can do that already.

Keep Graal simple is what I say. Sadly no one agrees and tries to make Graal look like a professional MMORPG. ;

Graal3D supports the OpenGL shading language. For Graal2D it is not planned yet to support a low-level access to the shaders, if you know some effects that could improve the visual quality a lot then eventually post screenshots or so.
