Paint Shop Pro X Problem

For some reason whenever I use the air brush or a brush tool or really ANY tool, it keeps saying it has to convert the image to an 8bit/channel image, I don't want it 8bit, I want it 16 bit like I had it set, and it won't really let me do anything unless its 8bit. How do I fix this?

I'm going to be VERY angry at Corel if there is no way to fix this.

You could be in CMKY mode, see if you can switch to RGB.

The image is already setup to be in RGB 16bit mode, its and it wants to convert it to an RGB 8bit mode. It won't allow me to do ANYTHING unless I allow it to convert it. This is really pissing me off.

Maybe this is a chance for you to learn a lesson; Stop being a wuss about your colors.

If you ever print your work, or make posters... guess how many bit it will be?

Hmm, never mind problem solved, it converts it to a "RGB 8bit/channel" However, when I messed around with the air brush I was easily able to create 60k+ colors, probably more if I wanted. So even though it says its 8bit, I don't think it is, I saved the image and loaded it again, still 60k colors. No problem then I guess.
