New menu to buy event items?

I suggest a new menu be added for cyberjouers to make the money they want to expand, and the players to feel GK has the balance it needs.

Do a semi-reset for GK and make ALL event items available only through paypal and the other ordering methods graal currently has from this in game menu, and if an event NEEDS to be held you know the item will be a major deal, like some of the blood paladin set that i didn't have the honor of seeing but once when lance showed it on the trade tables, or the heart and wing shields i have spotted.

OR

You can just buy the graphics, you keep the original stats of your items, but they look like the better gear, (like having a plain old battleaxe but with warhammer graphics) Nobody is overpowered and everyone is happy because they have a cool looking item like the high level players own.

But knowing todays GK players some just don't want to give up their hard earned powerful items, i would be willing to give all of it up for the betterment of GK later than keeping it and looking the other way, that's what i'm seeing alot of now, a few players just not caring enough about GK getting the much wanted fix it needs and more about what they have is just sad, it's a game people, a good game that's losing players for one reason or another and your too damn proud of your scripts and graphics to do anything to help.

I had that set pass through my hands before. I miss it :[
It wasn't mine though. It was used by Ghost Pirate (the weapon was still prepped by him).
I think I was supposed to make sure it got to Lance or something, and that's why I let it go.

With this idea, you're alienating people who don't have money to spend on items. The way you're suggesting this, it's like punching someone in the face, taking their backpack, then selling it back to them when they complain about you taking it.

A few mmorpgs I cannot name due to strange rules already do this. It might work, and might also enable us to go free to play. I give it a thumbs up, you'd have to make a list of how much each thing costs though and make it affordable for everyone. If its cheap enough alot of people would hand out the cash.

Anything that resets gk from the way it is I applaud. There are two options for GK to be repaired now that I have talked to many people: reset or new GK server. Either way, I would like to see something done already, we have been having a downward decline in players for the last three years

It would help graal alot, but if you just want the image just edit the shield in your webgifs. Only you can see it though.

Actually, you can't do that. It only works for a few things. I tried to put an Imp. Dusty shield over several shields of mine, and as soon as GK starts, the graphics are returned to normal.

The problem though, is that what happens if there's a server glitch and items are lost, or if someone scams a person and takes their fancy little item?
Now you're not just talking about lost time, you're talking about lost money as well.

Graal would not be held accountable due to sections in the user agreement, but that wouldn't stop people from complaining and/or at least TRYING to do something about it. Paying real money for in-game items would only cause problems in an environment like this.

I know another online game that lets you pay real money to affect your account by adding special things, or making you look different, but none of those differences are required to be able to actually play the game. It's the choice of the people playing whether they want to pay the money or not.
However, in the sense of event items, they are usually the more powerful items in the game, and thus, anyone who can't afford to buy them, or doesn't like the concept of paying money to borrow a set of pixels for their character is going to innately be at a disadvantage.

As for your other suggestion, being able to change the graphics of items, well, this would just make scamming easier. Unless someone makes sure to click on everything they're being traded, how are they to know that the HSoD on the table isn't actually a Shiny Shield. Items are recognizable by sight, and some people don't know any better. Even so, only allowing graphics to be changed hardly requires a reset.

Just like when prepping a weapon only one person can use it, is something similar that hard to script for the buyers? As for scamming and graal fudging up that's just a risk you have to take eh? It happens now anyways so there would be pretty much no change adding this menu.

As for being unfair that people can't afford the menu items, well, you can access GK can you not? What's keeping you from working one more hour a day for two weeks to buy all those nifty items? Some folks that left GK dude to it's getting old and boring just may return, you know they look at the forums now and then, i sure do, and when they see THIS added the'll be jumping on it like crack fiends, trials need not worry since they most likely never even had a taste of GK.

Just noticed you speaking of fairness at not everyone getting something, their are only a few of certain items now, the hammerouge, Ed's mage shield, a VERY few orc shields, only a few folks have the chance to own one through events, that could be considered unfair, why not make a new event and give anyone participating a shiney new warhammer even if they don't win? Just something to look at for a bit.

Because what the hell would be the point of winning an event if everyone else could own the prize? ****, I wouldn't try if everyone is getting a warhammer. God bless my bamboo. Don't want any *****s running around with that.

I shouldn't have to pay more than the basic fees for the game in order to stay competitive. That's why there are basic fees, to allow access to the game and ALL of its features. Start charging for event items, and where does it end? Want more HP? Toss a few bucks this way. Want a playerhouse, well, you used to be able to build them by collecting materials, but now you just pay us money and we'll plop one down for you. Want your own kingdom? Drop us a line on Paypal!

Whether they have the items or not is irrelevant. The fact is that ANYONE can participate in events, just by having an account. There are a lot more than just sparring events as well, so there's at least something that suits the style of each player. Event items are a reward for accomplishment, which all players can attempt to win.

People already USD event items and such now, even brutal maps. At least in this way cyberjouers will make a piece of the pie.

I'm not a fan of USDing either, but after the sale, there's still only ONE person with the item, it's not like the people that can't afford it are going to be overwhelmed by the legions of people that can afford to buy every best piece of armor for sale.

If people buy everything using this system, the market would flood, their prices would drop. If anyone does that, oh well. At least cyberjouers could make enough to afford getting a few new servers or something to increase bandwidth..

Honestly in the condition that 2k2 is in, it couldnt hurt. I hear most people referring to it as a "chat room with items". I dont think it would really matter much. Mostly usd sellers would take a heavy beating, and its about time.

i quit a year + ago because i thought the server needed to be reset.

The majority of my gear was 1 of a kind aside from my helmet, shield, and boots (of course weapon.) If it had been reset, I more than likely wouldn't have quit.

The system doesn't sound that bad. You're already paying to play, why not pay for rarer equipment?

You most definitly did not read my whole post, i also added the idea that the items could be graphics only, the real "original" item with it's grossly overpowerd stats is still there, but now anyone can pay 2 or 3 dollars extra to make their nail dagger look just like a FID that only a pro will be seen with.

BUT like the real world folks tend to look at the bad parts first.

They kids would find money some how if they really want this crap. The typical person who buys would probably spend like 100-200 just on gear so he can look cool and maybe fight better. People will buy this stuff they already do.

I diddnt read that it would be a graphic. I want to see the real item sold. People will buy that, and why are you all afraid of seeing all these good items go out to the general public?

Only a few people actually worked for their items that are left playing, the rest of the server bought their items or had them handed down for free. If you consider brownosing some godly player for items hard work, you have problems.

They don't want balance, to them, balance = bad.

Grow up a little and learn to accept a sacrifice of all items you have and work all over again, you already know what the heck to do, and it take less than a month to get the gear you want, the HSoD, PMoP, FHoM, any power weapons and rings are easy to get, great boots, i did all that with only three weeks and still had time to upgrade everything, but GK did not hold my attention long after that so i gave all of it out and quit, so all those saying "but i spent alot of time getting all that" SO? spend the time again, only this time being top dog in the server will be a bit harder, that's all.

Not likely to happen at all, your attempt to compare real life to a game is also sad.

It's a purposely ridiculous exaggeration meant to be compared to the equally ridiculous suggestion made concerning the game. If you think I was making a serious comparison, well, that's sad.

Time is the universal currency, just because they've spent their time on a game, doesn't mean they should more easily have that taken away from them.
