I need help.. I read a guide but I still keep getting a blank map. It works alright just that the map is black.

You can't:
(1) Make a small detailed map, it has to be big
(2) Have detail that is really thing (post your image if you can) because you need the lines of colour to be very thick for it to pick it up and work.
