Multiple choice tests are common across the globe and not unique to the United States. But they are common in the US.

doesn't that make it just a bit more easyer for people in the US to get good grades ? if you do it with multiple choice, around 1/4 chance for each question to get it right even if u don't know it, whereas here if u don't know the answer then your pretty screwd

MCAS uses the multi choice system to trick you all the anwsers could be right but only one is the best. The Essays on the test which totaly about 35 are hard as hell.

we always have most of our exams multiple choice with a small written work section. But easier to get good grades isn't always a bad thing because if more people get into university and get university educations there's a bigger workforce and better opportunities for everyone not just the people who are math and science geniuses

A Lot of the New York State Exams are multiple choice but there's usually extra things like essays and things you have to write out..
My English exam was 6 hours of 4 essays...

The AP Tests are much harder though...on an AP test you get penalized for random guessing on questions that are MC. They subtract .25 points off of your score for getting one wrong...So it's actually a better idea to accept you don't know it than to guess..
I had to take the AP Computer Science Exam...

Just because it's multiple choice doesn't mean it makes it easier. For example, take my Spanish Mid-Term. EVERY SINGLE QUESTION was multiple choice. More than half the class failed. It's not a question if it's multiple choice making it easy or not, it's still just a question of if you know the material or not. I'm just glad I didn't have to take the Honors English test, which is supposedly quite difficult...

to be honest, I believe it is a hidden agenda to make america dumber. Though that does not mean that multiple choice test, exams, etc. are easy. I do think, though, that teachers over use it on certain things

Americans are stoopid. They're multiple choice so that there's less chance of someone getting cramp from writing and sueing the exam board.

Well multiple choice is easier; in the case of open questions (Or to put it in other words, questions for which you have to write out the answer) there is certainly less then 25% chance of having your question right if you don't actually know the answer.

indeed we do have tests like that, on the SAT...and I think on the ACT (not sure though). I don't really care for them all that much..half the time the answers that I'm given are not close to the answer I think it should be.

my sats have been of nor use or relevence to my education what so ever and are a waste of time, all they did was just check to c if you were in the right sets.

nod. Personally standerize(sp) testing is fairly pointless, and too much stuff is dependent upon it. The SAT and ACT aren't exactly a fair estiment of a person's knowledge (sp)
