A solution to the level up thing..

Instead of adding new monsters that give mor experience points.
Why not lower the points needed? That way it won't be so hard to get points. So that people don't bug stefan and the other gfx people to constantly make new monsters.

But if this plan was to take place. The level's would have to reset.
As I said before, People would automatically go up 1 or 2 levels.

Those were my two cents.

In my opinion, it's waaaaay too easy to get to around level 10-15 these days. Someone can reach 10 in their first day. This is easiest for priests or people who roll enough times to start with a piety scroll and can already read (such as warriors as myself). All they have to do is earn about 100 plat to buy a staff and the spell "cause light wounds" (they can make this money easily from baking bread...and that's just 1 way), and then use the spell on T-Rexes and maybe even bosses. If they're not ready for bosses, they can keep killing T-Rexes till they level up enough and make enough money to buy "cause critical wounds" (about 300 plat).

This solves what!? The entire point of levelling is to get stronger, making it lower wouldn't change a thing cept make the game crappier as everyone would max level too soon. The strong would remain strong the weak would remain weak, it's called ratio.

Here's a bold idea. Give me the exp code? Allow the public to make their own versions of exp code from graal's. Just like we make our own versions of graphics from their texture pallete. Then they can watch their competition make improvements or new methods for gaining exp.

Somehow I have a feeling this idea will be rejected.

I'd say you're right... it will be...

If you want your helmet to be green, that's fine, if you want your flaming sword look like a fierce tropical fish, that's okay, you can even turn your grass into lava if you like, the point is, that is for you only and doesn't affect others gameplay. Using a different exp-system does. A fishlike flaming sword still has a flaming sword's stats. A player using a different system has an advantage though, which can't be the point of fair play.

It's kinda funny how you tried to make it sound like a positive suggestion rather than a desperate plea for working code.

Not at all. I read the majority of threads, it's not like I'm searching for your posts or something.

...?

So... you ask me to give up my time in order to make scripts for you (because you're too lazy to do it yourself), and I'm supposed to be grateful? I'm supposed to be nice to you because of it?

Yeah, you stalk me. How do I know? Because whenever, I mean whenever I go post something I learn about graal you are there to start taunting me.

Funny how you define people asking for help. I forgot, we are all genious's and know all and see all. We dare ask you for help? We must incur your ungrateful wraith. Just leave me alone. If I form an opinion of graal, that's helpful, you can do the helpful thing and not use it as an opportunity to bash me. I'm asking you to leave me alone.

Not really taunting. I just point out certain hypocrisies.

And, as I explained, I post wherever I feel that something is worthy of comment. It doesn't matter who posted it.

"ungrateful"? You still don't get it, do you? Why should I be thankful that you have chosen to ask me for my help? Why should I be grateful?

As for helping people, I do it all the time. But only when I feel that they're willing to put something into the endeavour too, and don't merely want me to solve all their problems for them.
