Chat Only Server Or addon for chat?

Someone said to me that having a chat server or something would be cool, because they can't play graal because of their lag issues. He said, having a chat section only would be nice, so they could keep contact with friends on graal.
What does anyone else think?

Why not just use AIM, MSN, Yahoo etc.
Anyways the only chat room I would want added to Graal is on 2k2 for all the people that want to mass out what they are buying/selling.
Then they all can have a place to mass away in ther and save me getting all the masses.

I think he means like, while in game and you dont want to play but just talk... masses suck anyway

It could be a small java client and you could send PMs and you'd have the following chat rooms: those linked with the game (toalls and toguilds) and some which are just for the chat program (trading or similiar stuff).
Off course you'd need to add the new chat rooms for each server, but I doubt that would be so hard.

By the way:

newfeatures2001.txt
- added caching of up to 50 toall-messages for each player;
when a player sends several toall-messages in short time
then you can see all of them by clicking several times
on the toall-bubble of that player;
this feature has been added to make future Graal extensions
like a separate chat client possible
