How do you keep yourself from dying if you're poisoned? And are there any potions that will do it too?

I don't think there is a way to stop it X_X All I know is when you have onions or potatoes or anything and 1 or 2 onoins are in a different place in your menu than a different 8 or something, or has the name "blah of poison", DON'T EAT IT unless it gives you 20 fire resist, like a mushroom did to me
