(this came to my mind when viewing the Utopia thread)

I think it would be awesome if someone made a playerworld and used Earth as the overworld. Of course, maybe it wouldn't be to scale, as that would take years to create, but it would be neat nonetheless.

Here is a map of the Earth made in the graal level gen.

I just went to a map site that I found in 10 seconds, and there was a pic of the earth and terrain (like the red for mountains and stuff) so I just copied it into my gif program, lowered the colors and then changed them to the colors that the levelgen uses. Then I just enlarged it and made the levels. There are like 1000+ levels that were generated totalling over 9mb in size. Yet the land is nowhere near to being scale size.

Stefan can do it for Graal2035 or something.. Since that is probably how long it would take to create it all.

Stefan works on a gradual scale.. G2k1 took a while to build content online, G2k2 is taking 2 to 3 times as long, by the time G2k5 rolls around, it's would need to be renamed to G2k10 when it's finished.

Make one huge playerworld named "Galaxy"
and have a map of every planet generated.

Have earth like stuff, and make it so you can migrate to other planets.

Oasis can be another planet.

Actually, servers remain individual, but we can use the nifty serverwarp command

Or at least use 3-4 servers to create a massive world

Only problem is that there would be no common standard

Lot's of stuff didn't show up in the map.. I didn't make it by hand, I just found a terrain version map of the Earth, and converted it to a level generator useable version. Some stuff that was small or skinny or something might not have shown up well.. The map I used wasn't really up to date either I don't think.

I only made it as an example, not as a perfect replica. It took me like 5-10 minutes to do, so if someone wanted to make one better, I'm sure they could. By the way, I'm not going to use this idea or anything, just so you guys know.

I think there should be an online map of "graal" where it plots all of the peoples real locations on it and generates house gfx for each of them, thus creating towns/cities and stuff ... *thinks of more things to waste valuble time*

Cool...

We can make a 1st person spaceship that lets you fly between planets.

Somebody needs to make a platformer graal server.

It's all 2d from a side persective.
